Both the questions are the same .As the options are more I separated them.

I genuinely don't understand the question.

Stars like the sun are losing energy all the time which is why they radiate such huge amounts of light.  That is energy they are losing.  Solar storms and the solar wind are also causes of stars losing mass/energy.

As for which kind of star will "explode" next, what do you mean?  Do you mean what kind of star will the next observed supernova be or are you asking something else?

Are you asking what of these types of stars has the shortest lifespan?

Are you asking which star do we know of that is theorically going to explode the sooner and what type it belongs to?

Also the question is even more confusing because exploding and losing energy is quite diffrent on many levels.

Can you be more specific please?

I havent seen anything so confusing since I went into this thread which is entitled a paranormal shot by a gun on tv. Especially the part about the "fraternity of Ben".

That was how I read it too. Earth may experience twin suns when Betelgeuse goes supernova - Tatooine's twin suns - coming to a planet near you just as soon as Betelgeuse explodes LINK

Maybe next week, maybe in 1000 years.

As such, where be the class M option?

Though it is a derivation of the Arabic phrase “yad Al Jauza” meaning the “hand of Al-Jauza” referring to a mysterious woman that controls the order of the universe, it hasn’t stopped some people from clearing out their bunkers and stocking up on tinned food.

LOL. I hope not! I am looking forward to the end of 2012 to see what the next doomsday prediction will be.

I am still wondering where the Class M star is though! The most likely to explode does not have an entry on the list!

Sorry, no vote from me, as:
- the question isn't clear (if you are truly asking which will explode soonest, it won't be a type of star, so much as a list of several actual stars - see below...)
- the criteria for nova/supernova behaviour is not really dependent on spectral type, so much as.. mass.
- the 'types' you have listed is a motley mixture, adding in some newer, rarely used classifications yet excluding others, and seems to include classes that are not even stars..


Further, I can't fathom why a poll is applicable.  Are you testing people's knowledge of star types?  If so, you will find that the vast majority of folks (myself included) don't keep them memorised, nor think on a daily basis about how the type will affect their future behavior.

As for the best candidates to watch, well.. keep your binoculars trained carefully on Eta Carinae, Betelgeuse, Antares (not many people know that!) and Alpha Lupi...  any day now, I reckon..

  

An interesting poll would be which star people think will be the next spectacular one.  May I be first to claim Antares - and it will be spectacular!  Just hope I'm alive..
