LuciaUruguay Posted September 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2005 Well, I am very shok of all the accidents that aviation in general is having around the globe. Because is not only the old airplanes but the helicopters too are having some accidents. Well, I heard on an Argentinian program a lady explaining what was going on with this accidents. She show on a PC all the solar activity and it was amazing! I never saw images like that before and I seen lots of them. She said too that the airplanes were flying at a "low" attitude because the solar activity was damaging the navigation instruments. Is that tru? I know some Argentinians are a little paranoid and they like to scare everyone, but I also know the dangers of the sun. If anyone could confirm this or denied it with official Nasa or whatever agancy could be great! Thanks in advance, also, if I where companies and governemt I would never tell the poepl about this, so, if you can help on this I will be very happy
Adramaleck Posted September 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2005 It is certainly plausable - sunspots have been known to cause anomolious things to happen with comm gear.
santean Posted September 27, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 27, 2005 Very interesting. Maybe when the sun flares hits the earth directly it causes some electronic circuits to get damaged. I think sun flares do hit earth 1 or 2 or 3 times a year, directly. Further, I think next year there will be more direct sun flares coming towards earth. Also, 2 years from now, there be still more direct sun flares than next year. Simply put, the sun is getting more and more active, year in and year out. In 2005 The sun is active. In 2006 The sun will be more(maybe 10% more) active than 2005. In 2007 The sun will be more(maybe 15% more) active than 2006. In 2008 The sun will be mroe(maybe 20% more) active than 2007. As you can see the rate of Increase, is Increasing. Thanks.
