Interesting landform

back to earth

Recommended Posts

I am not sure where to put this ... its about interesting and unusual landforms of totemic / magical significance, sacred sites etc (please move it if there is a specific forum)

This picture recently appeared on the internet, no one has been able to get an angle and distance shot, until now, that reveals what is special about this 'mountain' .

I am being elusive as some insist it is imagination ( from the photo) or cant see anything unusual ... in real life it much clearer and easily visible from my front garden.

So I will leave it here and see what comments it attracts

(image not allowed here  )

So I noticed the name Tim Aickin and googled that. Found his gallery and found the same pic. It has the name, "Leans pano Thora NSW". I take from the site and the NSW that this is in New South Wales. And I'm guessing that the pic is of one of the hill/mountains around Thora NSW. This is further reinforced by Tim's home address in Thora NSW. Perhaps a pic of the Bellinger River National Park? Or perhaps Dorrigo Mountain?

Google of Dorrigo Mountain shows a mountain that appears very similar.

This pic is copyright, so I can't post it here, but it appears to be toward the East, notice rising Moon. While Aickin's pic is probably from the South.

That only leaves to discover if there is something magical about the place. Other then the wildlife, local people, and amazing views.

Errrmmm ....yeah ... the location and what is around it isnt to do with the reason why I put the pic up ... as I said, I can see it from my yard so I know where it is (and where I am).

What I am asking is ; when looking at the picture (forget where it is and what might be around it ) do you notice anything unusual in the land forms and the shape or detail of the mountain ?

There is certainly " something magical about the place " !

It appears to me to be slightly 3D like multiple pics, taken from slightly different positions, were all layered (Not sure that is the term?) together in a photo program.

Also it is in Black and White, which also helps pull out sharp detail. Picture appears very sharp to me.

Otherwise....

Maybe someone else will happen along and see what you are about.
