Still Waters Posted January 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2014 A builder who handed in his tax return late blamed the death of his pet goldfish, while a farmer said it was the fault of an unruly cow. A third culprit said he failed to send in his forms after becoming obsessed with an erupting volcano on the television news. http://www.telegraph...ed-by-HMRC.html
+Link of Hyrule Posted January 3, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) My last Tax Return was late. By about four years. My excuse: I forgot (aka, too lazy to put it in on time)! I guess they don't take too much issue if they actually owe you money, they only seem to get on your tail if you end up owing them. Because despite putting it all together and putting four years of tax returns together, I had no penalties. It was also quite exhilarating to receive $18,000 in a tax-free lump sum. I just wish I was better at saving, it all went into dodgy personal endeavours that were fun to go through at the time but ultimately wasted the lot. Simbi Laveau Posted January 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2014 The first thing I learned to say in Japanese class, was inu wa tabimashita. The dog ate it.
