Waspie_Dwarf Posted April 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Beauty from chaos 10 April 2014 Beautiful streamlined islands and narrow gorges were carved by fast-flowing water pounding through a small, plateau region near the southeastern margin of the vast Vallis Marineris canyon system.Images captured on 7 December 2013 by ESA’s Mars Express show the central portion of Osuga Valles, which has a total length of 164 km. taniwha Posted April 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2014 This is highly mysterious... What was the water source, does this river valley stem from a mountainous area or high lake plateau? Why is this information missing? Was it an internal water plume, or geyser ? Was it triggered by tectonic shift? A meteor? An ice berg? Is this evidence for atmospheric water or only surface water? Was it even water at all? Could it have been carved by ice or lava or some other fluid? Seriously folks, anyone help out here?
