My first experience was terrible. I tryed to astral project for a while maybe 20 min. I was able to see blue stars flickering and flying around me and then it stopped and I couldnt get past that so I just relaxed for a minute and I was still stuck. Getting upset I went to sleep and when I woke I saw the stars again this time more real, faster, more visible, less dark. So I looked around me, to took up a deep breathe and opened my eyes and my body was convulsing and shaking rapidly, it felt somebody had knocked the air out of me, but I leaned upwards to get out of bed but my body didn't move I was in my astral body i think. But it was very difficult for me to breathe I pinched my cheeks to make sure this was no joke, it didn't hurt this was real, I projected. Looking around the room it seemed normal until i decided to move from my bed. Then the whole room and my vision started collapsing like i was having a seizure and my vision got blurry and shaky really quickly...I was panicking and then I saw a black thing next to my door to my left. I panicked more because it was just a shadow and it and kind of smokey. It came closer to me with every blink of an eye and I panicked more and got even harder for me to breathe, I was gasping for air. I then remembered on the forums talking about a barrier a light nothing can hurt me. I imagined it and nothing happened..I was hopeless and alone and this figure was coming closer and it felt as if I was running out of time and air because it became even harder for me to breathe. I tryed to yell out for my dad but with no air, only wheezing sounds.. but somehow I was moved to back to my body. My body was sore and tired, almost as if I went through a war. I dont know what you call this experience but please help me, I'm terrified to go to sleep and I think I brought that black thing back with me.. my room feels different and when i was back in my real body and opened my eyes I could still see it a little bit but it moved back and was still hard for me to breathe but I finally had the strength to move and after I left my room I felt normal.

The room also had a kind of a blue tint a little bit not really noticeable

I have been trying to project for a while and I final had this experience but it seemed like to much for me to explain. I awoke from my body and I wasn't floating like im supposed to and it seemed off, but it was to real for me. I'm 18 if that helps.. please respond I can't sleep untill I have a valid answer.

You induced a sleep paralysis episode. You have to relax when this happens.

Part of learning how to exist in altered states is being able to control and master your emotional reactions. You can taint anything with your mind in pure consciousness. Are you doing any other regular meditation practice?

The light did not come because you were imagining it, just let it flow as if it were a natural movement. You can also have something with you that is part of your power. What is it that you do? Not for work, but something that is apart of your life, or do you have a special gift or heirloom.?

Something that has medicine or power for you.

If you don't think you are ready to face your shadow, you should rethink altered states of consciousness. This is a necessary layer for many people before they can move forward.
