Still Waters Posted February 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2014 A woman was forced to breastfeed her dying puppy in order to ‘save his life’. The Colorada resident, who has decided to remain anonymous, felt the orphaned puppy had only an hour to live after refusing to feed from a bottle. http://metro.co.uk/2...s-life-4295678/ Unusual, but it worked!

An unusual thing to do. I wonder if a vet could have helped? Maybe she lived to far away.Wonderful that the puppy lived though. Mind you, I'd opt for remaining anonymous as well Edited February 8, 2014 by Astra00
Regi Posted February 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2014 What's intriguing to me isn't so much that he made it, but that he's no longer the runt of the litter!
Lilly Posted February 8, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2014 I've seen cross species mothering (including breast feeding) many times. I think people are making more of a 'big deal' than need be...after all we humans drink cow's milk all the time.

That's what happens when the meme "humans are fundamentally different to every other animal" is propagated through society for millenia. If you repeat a lie often enough, people will start believing it.

Exactly, and if you really think about it, what's more *disgusting* drinking the milk of another species or letting another species have your milk? Hey, I'd have saved the puppy in the very same manner were I in similar circumstances...and it wouldn't have bothered me one bit.
Eldorado Posted February 8, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 8, 2014 A prile of puppies must have been a glorious sight.
