Graph Suggests Iran Working on Bomb

Iranian scientists have run computer simulations for a nuclear weapon that would produce more than triple the explosive force of the World War II bomb that destroyed Hiroshima, according to a diagram obtained by The Associated Press.
The diagram was leaked by officials from a country critical of Iran's atomic program to bolster their arguments that Iran's nuclear program must be halted before it produces a weapon. The officials provided the diagram only on condition that they and their country not be named.

The idea of Iran developing a nuclear weapon is scary stuff.  All they really need is one.  One atomic explosion detonated anywhere in Israel would destroy Israel.  The EMP of the blast would render Israel 'dead in the water' and thousands upon thousands of Rockets would rain down shortly thereafter.

Israel's only hope is that Iron Dome brings down the missle first, before it detonates...then again...it doesn't have to be in the form of a missle now does it?

If Iran achieves creating this bomb, we are all screwed (sorry for using this expression). The whole situation in Middle East is really worrying... :(

Geez, I wonder if it was provided by a country with an axe to grind with Iran? From article:

Other diplomats have said that Israel and the United States — the countries most concerned about Iran's nuclear program — have supplied the bulk of intelligence being used by the IAEA in its investigation.

The article further goes on to state:

David Albright, whose Institute for Science and International Security is used by the U.S. government as a go-to source on Iran's nuclear program, said the diagram looks genuine but seems to be designed more "to understand the process" than as part of a blueprint for an actual weapon in the making.

"The yield is too big," Albright said, noting that North Korea's first tests of a nuclear weapon were only a few kilotons. Because the graph appears to be only one in a series, others might show lower yields, closer to what a test explosion might produce, he said.

Oh I advocate no position on this. I found it to merely be an interesting article. I don't make the news, I don't even report it, I just provide handy links.

This sure is worrying indeed, fort north Korea and now Iran? This could generate a chain reaction of wars throughout the world and start a new world war eventually, cross your fingers and hope this doesn't happen

I don't want to see a nuclear Iran but I don't like a nuclear North Korea either.  That genie has been let out and its never going to go away.  That is unless something even more powerful comes along to replace it.

If Iran does get the bomb and they use it, they will be just signing their own death sentence.  You nuke, you get nuked.  So I don't think they would use it unless they were nuked.

It seemed clear from your OP you were just sharing an article. I do it all the time. I found the parts I posted to be of particular interest and relevance.

Not being part of the world-wide brain washing I say good for them.

If psychos like the US can be trusted with it, it's only fair.

Iran is trying to secretly develop a nuclear weapon?!?!?!~

GASP!~

Don't we all ASSUME that this is going on anyhow?

Our best hope is that they get a nuclear weapon only AFTER the religious zealots are all rotting in their graves, and the younger generation has come to power.

Elect me president and I will nuke every country including my own. Problem solved.

I'm tempted to snip that so I won't end up on a list.  Too late.

Don't be worrying about N.Korea and Iran starting any wars.  It's the Yanks and Israel you need to keep an eye on!
