Possible photo of a shadow person?

Boo Boo

Recommended Posts

So this whole idea of 'shadow people' has really sparked my interest, and I've been doing some casual online research in my spare time. During my research, I only found one picture that seemed to have actually caught the fedora hat-type shadow person... and I am curious to see what you all think. Especially those of you who have actually seen a shadow person first hand (I have not, so I have nothing to compare it to)...

Original picture

Picture after I applied some PS adjustments

I increased the contrast and brightness slightly only to show the shape of the 'being', and to show that it seems as if it's wearing a fedora.

What do you think?

Omg, that picture is just... freaky , BUT could be done by the brush tool combined with eraser and changing of opacity.

well from what i have experienced not all of them appear with hats.. in fact i have never seen one like that..

i would say it is a pretty decent photo .. what is the history about that house and esp that part of the house ? one experience i had was a ta friends house.. i slept over and woke up with scratching noises by the bed and then i saw a shadow figure close to the bed.

so far in my opinion they are very real but i am still trying to figure out why some of them are around. while some have a history with that property...

but it would be interesting to see what other have to say about it ..

This looks very similiar to what i saw a few years ago, the only difference is i saw a more detailed "shadow person" it looked like a human shadow standing up straight with one of them hats from back in the day. And when i say detailed i mean i could make out that he was a tall - skinny - man. Lol as some on mentioned to me before it could have been some one peeking in on me, a stalker of some sort :D the eyes and mind can play tricks on you. I never new what i saw when i was younger, i just new i saw something. then i found this forum a month or so back and thats when i could put a name and explanation to it.. but still im not sure, there could have been a logical explanation...

Your pic you got there totally freaks me out..

I have a question, are shadow people evil?

no, thats not a shadow person at all.

the one pic looks like a dark room. the 'ps' one looks as if you purposely made it look the way it does, and doesnt even really look like the original. sorry, but its just a bad fake.

you adjusted it waaaay too much to see what you wanna see. sorry, nothing there.

I only upped the contrast and brightness a bit since the room was so dark!

Is there a picture you can find of a real shadow person? I'm just so curious to see what they look like.... without having to actually see one

well you opted it up SO much that it doesnt even look like the same pic, and somehow, conveniently, the shadow area stayed, while ALL the other shadows left :hmm: yeah....well thats my take.

and id guess a real pic of a shadow person would look like...................a shadow? lol although flash on a camera could interfere and make the shadow 'dissapear'.

Dude chill chill, ok? he posted an original and thats what matters, so the one that was fixed up a bit dosn't matter too much, I can clearly see the image he's showing on the original and thats all that matters. Thanks for posting an interesting picture you found. Here I'm posting two which the first one has increases of Brightness:+100 Contrast:+100 Midtones:+100 to show how the image has little see through capabilities, possibly fake I'm not sure because I'm no photo expert. The second one is Brightness:+100 Contrast:+100 and Midtones:-100 to show where the main light comes from and reflects around you see where the shadow person still stands. Not so much see through, still I cannot say if it's fake or not as i'm not a photo-expert, so leave this up to others, just a few flux extreme changes from both ends of midtone spectrum. The second one shows where light is seen and refracting off of objects, you see how the shadow person dosn't have any at all reflecting off of it. You see where the lamp is reflecting the light off from, but the shadow person is a dark part of the spectrum

Interesting photo, I have seen many similar to this but not exact. I'm not yet ready to call this a real shadow person.

I did some quick analysis on your photo, Solarization at about 9 second elapsed time with 2 different methods and here is what I came up with.

post-81070-1227465353_thumb.jpg

I could only upload 1 because of max size limit, the other is a slightly different method that shows the outline in white but similar results. This method contrasts the darker shadow to the surroundings removing gradient edges to sharpen the figure.

The head area and lower body area are of some interest.

So then in your picture the black spots are extreme light, and lighter spots are extreme darkness....the shadow figure didn't change from black.

...umm, why?

did i post with caps lock on? did i leave to many exclamation marks? oh, wait, i did neither...weird.

Their pics they posted above looked Very much like fakes, mainly because ones a black room, and the Other was the photoshop picture, that makes the 'shadow' stand out waaay too much comepared to everything else, and makes the pic look Very tampered with. and in the original they posted, you cant even See the 'shadow person' at all. because its all black. theres nothing really. its as if they picked out that shape, then showed the pic with brightness and contrast up and left the shadowy firgure they placed there. thats why i believe its fake.

It looks good, but the edges of it look like they've been done using the smudge tool in PS. I'm not saying they have, they just look like it.

I dont know what your PC's screen resolution and brightness runs at but I saw it perfectly fine as I opened the document, I was expecting something to be a total blur. The pictuture isn't the OP's picture the OP found it on a website and even posted the link of the site which Boo Boo found it at. So it's some minor adjustments to the photograph, it gives you the distinct look to see if you see any thing out of the ordinary, which you blantly come out and say "Fake" without any justification to back your reasoning up as to why it's fake other than the OP made a minor adjustment to make it clearer. I did the same but the two ends of the midtone spectrum. It gives you the opportunity to observe the photo and make a clearer determination, how do you think people sometimes try to debunk a photograph, they mess with settings on things and observe it closer in details.

See I play devil's advocate a lot, I play both the believer and the skeptic and if you noticed I did state "Possibly". I never said you posted in caps lock, I just posted "Chill chill dude". I see no harm in what I said.

there is not alot of light in the photo so it would have to be a long exposure so this type of photo would not be hard to fake ..

a person with a towel or jacket could do it with no problem ..

Well I don't know if the photo is real or fake but it is a good post to give you the general idea of what a shadow person would look like. :tu: I have never seen one either , so it's hard for me to compare.

Kind of spooky though , that's for sure. Thanks for posting too !

Great photo! I've never seen a shadow person and the only people I know HAVE seen one have been very close to death at least once in their lifetime. Those of you on here who have seen one - have you been very close to death at any time?

The thing that freaks me out about these "shadow people" the most is the fedora hats.

Why do a lot of them wear the same type of hat?

Are they organized with uniforms? Or maybe all the hat-wearing ones are actually the same single being, some poor fool caught in some other dimension of meaningless time and world-traveling space? It's just so surreal for so many of them to be wearing a fedora, of all things.

Moonie, Funny but true.

**Self mental note: Do NOT wear a fedora hat when dying. Will result in becoming a shadow person.**

I like that point, could be some sort of person but the hat is the one resounding fact. Has anyone tried to talk to one?
