Still Waters Posted March 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2013 Dog owners are being warned to keep Easter eggs well out of reach of their pets after a dog from Cardiff ate some and nearly died. Sally Riella came home from work to discover Poppy had devoured the chocolate eggs in her shopping. As little as 500g (1.1lbs) can prove fatal to a dog of Poppy's size as they are allergic to a chemical in chocolate called theobromine. http://www.bbc.co.uk...-wales-21971606 Poppy was lucky! poor dog I imagine most dog owners know not to give their pets chocolate. When we had a dog we used to buy him those special "Good Boy Choc Drops".
Still Waters Posted March 30, 2013 Author #2 Share Posted March 30, 2013 And another one in today's news - Most people will indulge in many an Easter egg this weekend. But one dog's greed nearly cost her her life after she ate a whole bag of harmful chocolate coins. The Jack Russell cross thought it was her lucky day when her owner left a bag of chocolate coins within easy reach of her. http://www.dailymail...-chocolate.html
Ashotep Posted March 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2013 Yes chocolate is very bad for dogs and so are grapes. Don't give an aspirin to a cat either.

Moon Gazer Posted March 30, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 30, 2013 Awww, poor doggies! I've never personally owned a dog but am aware they can't eat chocolate designed for human consumption.
