Study: U.S. healthcare better, still fails

NEW YORK, October 20 (UPI) -- Even though U.S. healthcare has improved in some areas, the country is failing to match the improvement made in other countries, a non-profit group says.

The third national scorecard report from the Commonwealth Fund Commission on a High Performance Health System in New York found 50 percent of U.S. adults with high blood pressure had it under control in 2007/2008, compared with 31 percent in 1999/2000.

The big problem with health care in most countries is 'Us' , human beings .... My grandparents never ran to the doctor for anything unless it was a dire emergency , and I think I inherited that stoicism .... So the question has to be asked , why do people go to doctors so often ?

I think it's still like a social status thing for a lot of people. Even with all the information out there about all the drugs. People are strange. It's probably all the drugs most of the country is on. :D
