Well NASA just recently admitted that we would be helpless if a fair sized asteroid were to be on a collision course with the earth.

The Mayans should not be considered as fakes at all.

Al lthey did was create a calendar which ended on a particular date. Maybe they were lazy to create another one.
The mayans NEVER EVER did make any prophesy that the world will end on such and such date.

The fakes are those who interpreted the Calendar ending as the end of the world., for their own personal gain by selling books, lectures to rake in the moolah out of gullible folks.,

That's what makes this worse... They did create another one, well many actually. lol

The Mayan calenders go on for a very long time. It was only the end of the current calender.

I, personally, don't buy into all of this gloom and doom crap by either Christians or Mayans but I read this really interesting story called 'The 6th Extinction' or something like that. Zombie folklore exploiting the Mayan prophecies as truth. The interesting thing about it was that like, some plant that would alter human DNA and turn people into well... walking, exploding zombies was what the Mayans were actually referring to... it just took like, three years to kick in or something. I know it is highly unlikely but what if something like that DID happen? What if there was some sicko disease released on that Mayan day and it just hasn't reached all over the world yet... lol

The Mayans aren't fakes.  We interpreted the calendar the way we want to.  Some people have made money off of this.  IT's time to stop beating a dead horse.
