In continuing with our reorganisation of some of our forum sections ( part one detailed here ) we've made a few additional changes to the boards today, these are aimed primarily at extending our coverage of a few areas that weren't being covered as well as they could be.

The main change here is the addition of a new category called Paranormal Books, TV and Media, home to two of our existing sections and one new one, i'll go over these in a bit more detail:

Paranormal Television, Film and Radio
This is a revision of our old Paranormal Books, TV and Media section and will focus specifically on video and audio media. In here you'll be able to find discussions on popular paranormal related television shows such as Ghost Hunters as well as radio shows such as Coast to Coast AM. Sometimes producers from shows will drop by the forums to let us know about upcoming episodes and to look for anyone who might be interested in appearing on them, this board will be place to watch for those.

Paranormal Books, Authors and Publications
This new board section will be dedicated to paranormal publications and printed media such as books, magazines etc. Also here will be discussions on authors who publish their work on the paranormal field as well as articles and other material. Sometimes authors will visit the forums to let us know a bit about what they are writing or to answer questions on their books, this board will be the place to look out for anything of that nature. As with anywhere else on the forums however the selling or commercial promotion of books or other products will be disallowed.

Paranormal Videos and Media
This is the section that used to be called Featured Videos and Multimedia and contains the comment threads for the videos we feature on the main site. While this section will still be used for that purpose it is now also open to other members to start new topics containing streaming videos related to the subject areas we cover. If you've created a paranormal related video on Youtube this would also be an ideal place to post it.

One additional new section has also been added to the Science and Space category:

Earth, Disasters and the Environment
This new section will provide a dedicated place to discuss major topics of the moment concerning Earth and the environment such as global warming, climategate, the Haiti earthquake and other earth science topics. Up until now these topics have been scattered around a number of other sections so this will help provide a focused location for such subjects to be discussed.

On top of these changes a few of the descriptions of existing board sections have been reworded slightly to better convey what they are about, nothing too major there but it should help make things a little easier when deciding where to post things.

This concludes our forum board layout changes for the time being, some additional ideas were suggested and considered but in the end I decided to opt for the changes outlined above. We will of course continue to tweak and improve the forums to provide the best experience possible for our visitors, any future updates will be posted up on the announcements board nearer the time.

The blog update is on hold until Invision patches some issues in the new release of the software.

The sidebar is still there - there's a little arrow on the top right of the board index you can click to toggle it.
