Kristianmarc Posted February 1, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2015 I have this wristwatch. It's a PGS. I got it for Christmas from my family. And I've worn it ever since. I only take it off when I am at the computer, showering or sleeping. And even then I always have it beside me. Had the watch for 4 years. I've had the battery changed twice. Seems very regular to me. But here is the interesting thing. Ever since I got it, it will sometimes stop. But when it stops, I will always look at it. And I will click the button that makes it continue. So I figured that it just stops randomly. But it has never stopped while I was sleeping. And it has never stopped, and then I looked at the 2 hours later, realizing it stopped. Everytime it stops, I will look at it. When I am at my computer, I have a clock on the wall that I will look at for tracking time. But sometimes, I will look at it, and then it has stopped the moment I look. This also happens when I wear it. I figured maybe I could feel it stop ticking sub-concsiously, against my arm, or it was something that happened when I did the motion with my arm to look at the watch. But that's not the case when it also happens at the PC, when I am not wearing it. This has not happened with my previous watch or any clocks on the wall. Perhaps I am causing it to stop? Also sometimes this happens a few times a week. Sometimes there can be months between the occurence. I tried googling if someone has had the same experience, but so far I haven't found anything. It's strange & if someone has a good explanation, it would be cool. Otherwise, I will just keep clicking the button that makes it continue to tick. Q-C Posted February 1, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2015 (edited) My dad could never wear a watch because they would stop on him too. But nothing paranormal, something in his biochemistry. It's possible you look at your watch more often than you think, and thus it seems like you look at it every time it stops. And you don't think about/keep a tally of your checking it when it is working. Edited February 1, 2015 by QuiteContrary
Grandpa Greenman Posted February 1, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2015 My wife couldn't wear a watch either, they would die within a week. One time we were at a science museum, they had a machine that measured the electricity in your body. She pegged it. I use to call her sparky. Pick up a cheap watch and see if it does the same thing. Be sure and let us know what happens if you do.

Redefining Success Posted February 4, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 4, 2015 If you have a button that makes it go, im presuming the same button would make it stop? Maybe your accidentally pressing the button? Depending on your posture while typing at a PC, and the position of the watch on your wrist, you can quite easily trap the watch between your arm and hand. Or it could be really poor qualiy batteries.
Just_Seeking Posted February 6, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 6, 2015 For some weird reason certain electronics that don't work for their owners have worked for me when they don't inform me its broke. Then when they do I can't get them to work. Its happened with car power windows, televisions,a ps2, and car stereos.
RigorMorticia Posted March 6, 2015 #10 Share Posted March 6, 2015 I used to always look at the clock at 9:11. I'd suddenly get an urge to look and it would be 9:11. After a while I'm sure it was just my body setting a routine but I wonder what started it. I also get into patterns where I'll wake up at the same time every night. acute Posted March 6, 2015 #11 Share Posted March 6, 2015 (edited) My mom had a problem with the wall-clock in her bedroom stopping. I replaced the battery many times, changed the clock twice, and it seemed to make no difference.
