dixierose Posted May 30, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted May 30, 2014 Yes welcome to the site. If you feel like it, share what some of your interests are, both relating to the paranormal and otherwise, and maybe some people with similar hobbies or such will have more to add! The paranormal in general fascinates me; but I am a skeptic. My guilty pleasure is watching any alien or ghost show on TV. Ancient Aliens is a good example. I know most (heck all) of that show is bunk; but it's still entertaining to me. My general interests are mainly sports related. I love the Braves, Falcons, and GA Bulldogs. I also love reading anything ranging from the classics (Dickens and Austin) to Sci-Fi/Fantasy (I absolutely refuse to read romance novels, though). My move interests include action, horror, and sci-fi (I refuse to watch chick flicks). My favorite TV shows right now are 24, Walking Dead, and Hell on Wheels.

Paranormalcy Posted May 30, 2014 #12 Share Posted May 30, 2014 Yes I'm sure you'll find plenty of conversations to engage in, and there's even a chat, if that's your style (I don't know how active it is). I also would recommend to you, if you haven't seen it, "Ancient Aliens Debunked", which I'm pretty sure I watched as a free three-hour very well-done documentary on Youtube, since you're a skeptic and like Ancient Aliens. =)

I knew the show was full of bull before I watched the video; but I wasn't aware of how much they outright lie and misrepresent things.

Hi Dixierose, Ref your t.v. shows have you got "The Vikings" on U.S. t.v. I think you might like the programme, welcome from sunless England.
Taun Posted May 30, 2014 #17 Share Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) Welcome aboard dixie! Hope you visit threads other than just paranormal ones from time to time... Lots to see here... to mods: with all the "lurkers" starting to come out of the lurkers dungeon, maybe it's time we knock down a few walls and renovate the place... I have a few ideas: add a 'waiting room", with a nice sound system so we can pipe in recordings of tortures from the past... Expand the rack room - so lurkers can lay side-by-side and chat as they are stretched... Run in some natural gas lines to the "hot poker and irons room" so we can save money on fuel - rather than using coal and/or wood Get some new rusty cages for the gibbets - the old ones are pretty worn out by now... Plus maybe paint the walls to add a dash of cheerful color - perhaps a nice dark slate grey, with touches of damp moss green... And please put the vermin invested straw back in... The new sheets that are there just take away from the whole experience... Just a suggestion... Edited May 30, 2014 by Taun
spud the mackem Posted May 30, 2014 #18 Share Posted May 30, 2014 Do you have to "serve time" as a Lurker, before you can join U.M. and become a fully paid up Member, perhaps Lurkers don't realise that if they join straight away the Entrance fee is only 1 post and its FREE.
