Voodoo Ancestors and Voodoo Curse

Ok, I am not a true believer nor am I a complete skeptic. I have experienced some thing and I have done some weird things. My question concerns ancestors and stuff I was told.

The person I am talking about is the doppelgänger of her great great grandmother (might be another great) how do I know this, there is an old painting. This grandmother was supposedly into black voodoo and either inadvertently had a curse put on her family line or someone else placed it.

If this is true, how do you lift it?

There is apparently a book that is handed down and I have not seen it, but is apparently with the current grandma who had a stroke and is unable to speak coherently. The mom has some serious medical issues and the daughter has some issues of her own. None of them are the same or similar from generation to generation.

If I posted in the wrong area please let me know and I will repost

The first question is, who believes in the curse? My personal interpretation is that the results of curses are almost always psychosomatic--you believe you are cursed, you begin to feel paranoid, you become stressed, your health declines, and the curse becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. It relies on the subject's fear of being cursed. If you don't believe in the curse, or refuse to believe that it can harm you, it won't affect you. Likewise, removal of the curse is self-fulfilling: make the subject believe the curse is lifted, and they will react as though the curse has been lifted. This is NOT to imply that there is no such thing as a workable curse; to the subject, the curse is entirely real. So if you can get someone who has knowledge about curses, or exorcism in a pinch, to cleanse your family or the book, that should help. Please, keep in mind that this suggestion is based off half off of my research and half off my interpretations. Whatever you choose to do, I wish you luck! :tu:

As for the posting location, this seems like as good a place as any, but I'm not a moderator.

Well, I'm not sure if anyone really believes there is actually a curse other than it has been passed from one generation to the next. No idea what the curse actually entails, but there are a lot of coincidences. The family is originally from Louisiana. I think it is more of a story that has been passed down than anything. Just looking for any insight if it might be true. It's work a shot at anything I guess.

The only curses are the ones we put on ourselves.
