I like the two nation option but first hamas must be disbanded. The Gaza strip is not part of the promised land to isreal.

Time travel to the end of WWII and stop the creation of the state of Israel. When and if God wanted the Jews to move back to the holy land he could have done it without the help of England and America. This is the same way I feel about God commanding anyone to kill. If he really want's them dead he can do it himself.

Lock down the current borders. Fences. Mine fields. Machine fun nests. Whatever it takes. Tell whichever side then breaks the peace first will be wiped off the map, it's people dispersed into other nations (taking care to not actually harm said people in the process) and it's land given to the opposing side. :)

Hamas is trapped between a rock and a hard place in Gaza, (Egypt and Israel) and both sides make matters worse by 'not recognizing the other's right to exist'. Difficult to achieve peace here, if not impossible.

I'd move ALL the ppl out of Gaza, give all Gaza land to Israel, and move these ppl to land that adjoins the West Bank and provided by Israel. And then build a wall.

OR, since they're so intent on killing each other, have Hamas forces meet Israeli forces on the battlefield and let them duke it out once and for all. Using civilians as shields, etc. IS chickenshit.

The greatest Palestinian Warrior versus the Greatest Israeli. Cage match no rules, the winner is the one who still has a pulse at the end of it.

Their side gets Gaza.

Force the Palestinian leaders to come to the table. Make a reasonable offer that includes pain for Palestinians AND Israelis. Let them tweak it but in the end make it a decree. Anyone on either side who takes up arms to change it would be summarily executed.

From a US policy standpoint, I'd only ask for three simple things.

1. Cut all foreign aid 100%. No dollar favorites, no welfare. Put that money back into the US where it belongs. Taxpayers can give generously to whoever they want in the world.

2. Abstain from the UN. Americans seem to quickly and easily have a lot of bad words to say about the UN, empty words, when they can't even agree with policy changes that mean it.

3. Stop proliferating arms and subsidizing the influence of the "Military Industrial Complex".

To put it short, let international law and the region handle it.

In detail, that excludes quite a bit. No blockades, no sieges, no sanctions, no weapons proliferation, no violence, essentially no war of any kind. Obviously I'd prefer to vote with the rest of the world in many UN Resolutions of the past, but that's probably asking for more than is realistically possible with the magnitude of political entrenchment in the US today over this issue. So abstinence in our policy would be the acid test of any true neutrality on the issue. Sometimes people come here and challenge me with their own personal neutrality, that "both sides are wrong" and so on, but with the policies that we have in place, we don't act like both sides are wrong. If both sides are wrong, our policy is still how we're wrong ourselves. This distinction would put many people solidly in my corner, even people who don't even think they agree with me at first glance. Hasina is a recent example. While she challenged me at least rhetorically, we would both click the same button when it came time to vote Yes or No on the issue of Israel-Palestine regarding both foreign welfare and international law. I don't doubt she and I would agree on some actually-conservative non-violent policy change ideas.

People are dying in Africa. Many Americans have good hearts and give generously. Many Americans give help to international relief organizations in the priority of the greatest need. Tens of thousands of human beings are dying every day because the US taxpayers on behalf of the US government can simply ignore many parts of the world that desperately need our help while we dump our dough on rich nations like Israel that can handle itself. I simply don't see any moral element in this position. It's favoritism and sweetheart money. I don't care who any bureaucrat's favorite is, and I don't want any political sweethearts, period. I don't care who it is, what color skin they have, what God they pray to, or what language they speak. Don't tread on me to then go tread on someone else too; that is a double foul on principle.

PS I can only think of a precious few politicians from the US government who would be capable of changing US foreign policy (here's a video about one of them, yet Ron Paul is now retired).

PSS If anyone wants to challenge American "conservatives" (and others) with a link to this post on the US boards, be my guest. Republicans and Democrats need to understand that when you subsidize something, you get more of it. You're buying it. Therefore, complaints are hollow, when the terrible results we're getting are being subsidized by the same people who are the first to complain, while no genuine reassessment of our foreign policy ever occurs. This circular self-fulfilling policy is more about rewarding your largest campaign donors and sealing your political careers than anything beneficial to the country or the world. The one legislator in the US govt I had the most hope for was Ron Paul's son, Rand Paul, but he's sold his soul to the Establishment too. It didn't take long. And to be fair, it happens to virtually every politician. They're altruistic and full of good intentions and a drive to make the world a better place, but they get sucked right into going along with whatever the US's two-party entrenched monopoly wants to do.

Noting the total disregard on this forum for replies like these. But they're just unbiased.

"Machine fun nests." Whatever it takes, okay, got it Freud.

Send Hamas to the moon. Then, start talks based on the condition that all say that Israel is a legitimate state entity. Address the civil rights and human rights of minority groups so that they can fully participate in the country. Think about how we addressed racial segregation back in the 1950s, and work from there.

Answer to OP: Stay out of it because we can't afford to get involved. These two countries have been fighting for thousands of years and they will probably continue to do so regardless of anything, or anyone.

This isn't a minority that can fully participate in the country; it's a different country. "Working from" a false pretense, how convenient. And there's nothing legitimate about breaking the law or infringing on peoples' liberty. We send thinking like yours to the moon first then we have a discussion based on common sense, not state-approved hypocrisy.

There was simple solution but decades ago. Now, there is no simple solution there can only be forced solution if we demilitarize that area and send international peacekeeping force there to care for both and to punish violent acts. But that is a dream too, no one in Israel would allow that even if they had to fight - and that would be justified fight, very 'different' from Palestinians fight that they have for over 100 years. Palestinians lost too much and to expect from Israel to give up on anything its unrealistic and considering that they have become modern and powerful ( especially with its allies ) their position is very strong now. Palestinians... What can they expect when no one will even be held responsible for all of those civilian deaths from last conflict. Children die - their fathers are blamed without shame... Great job has been done to make every normal human feel like %&$# when see all those murders and there is nothing you can do.
