Uncle Sam Posted February 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2013 I always wanted to join the service, sadly they declined me because I am partially deaf. Now I am too old to serve and it makes me sad that I couldn't service my country.
keninsc Posted February 9, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2013 I was in for five years myself and if I'd been allowed to, I'd have retired from the Marine Corps. I loved it. However, I had more freedom than any other time in my life. Hell, civilian life is full of people telling you what to do and most of them have their heads in a warm, dark, moist place most of the time.
Jinxdom Posted February 11, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2013 Debating on joining the Army for a stretch, wasn't about to give my best years up to them though. Still got about 5 years or so left. .
