The update to IPB 3 will now take place on the morning of August 21st, the forum will be down for a couple of hours while we make the change to the new forum software.
One thing to note is that the update will require forum posts, private messages and other data to be 'converted' to the new format used in IPB 3, as such some of your older PMs will not appear in your messanger right away - these will however re-appear as they are converted over the course of the day.
Similarly quotes and other bbcode tags will not appear correctly in a lot of forum posts immediately after the update, these will be slowly but surely fixed over the next few days as the converter gets through them. As we have over 3 million posts this process may take a while however any new posts made after the update will work just fine.
Fingers crossed one of the hard drives doesn't conk out beforehand this time.

Thanks for the update Saru! I'm praying.
"But then with me that horrid doubt always arises whether the convictions of man's mind which has been developed from the mind of the lower animals, are of any value or at all trustworthy. Would any one trust in the convictions of a monkey's mind, if there are any convictions in such a mind?" - Charles Darwin, in a letter to William Graham on July 3, 1881

Certainly looking forward to seeing the new boards sir.
Appreciate the work you put into the place
"Until and unless you discover that money is the root of all good, you ask for your own destruction. When money ceases to be the tool by which men deal with one another, then men become the tools of men. Blood, whips and guns--or dollars. Take your choice--there is no other--and your time is running out."
I don't see several posts I made within the last few days. Did we lose some?
Did I miss something?
