Dog Demon Posted December 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2004 (edited) It might just be a woman thing, but there are some songs I've heard that make me want to cry. Here are mine: Simon-Lifehouse It's just a sad and beautiful song. I saw an anime music video for Wolf's Rain to this song, and it showed clips from the ending that made me want to cry. You don't know that they had to go this far, Traded your worth for these scars Tears in Heaven-Eric Clapton He wrote it for his son after he died. Would you know my name, If I saw you in heaven With Arms Wide Open-Creed I saw another AMV for this one, for Full Metal Alchemist. It showed some of the saddest flashbacks. Well I just heard the news today It seems my life is going to change Anyone else got some? Edited December 12, 2004 by Dog Demon

Dog Demon Posted December 12, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted December 12, 2004 Another one is Away From the Sun, by 3 Doors Down. It'a just really sad, in a haunting sort of way. And there's a Japanese song called No More Words that's really lovely, but I was listening to it when I read the ending of Watership Down, so now I can't listen to it without getting really sad. Dog Demon Posted December 12, 2004 Author #11 Share Posted December 12, 2004 My dad is a singer, and he sometimes goes away on gigs for a long time. If I miss him a lot, whenever I hear his music, I get sad and sometimes cry a bit.
DC09 Posted December 12, 2004 #12 Share Posted December 12, 2004 Bring on the Rain by Jo Dee Messina with Tim McGraw always makes me tear up a little. I don't even really like country music. It would be even better if Tim McGraw didn't have his nasty voice stuck in there. Bring on the Rain Another day has almost come and gone Can’t imagine what else could wrong Sometimes I’d like to hide away somewhere and lock the door A single battle lost but not the war (‘cause) Tomorrow's another day And I'm thirsty anyway So bring on the rain It's almost like the hard times circle ‘round A couple drops and they all start coming down Yeah, I might feel defeated, I might hang my head I might be barely breathing - but I'm not dead Tomorrow's another day And I'm thirsty anyway So bring on the rain I'm not gonna let it get me down I'm not gonna cry And I'm not gonna lose any sleep tonight. Dog Demon Posted December 12, 2004 Author #14 Share Posted December 12, 2004 Here's the lyrics to Simon: Catch your breath Hit the wall Scream out loud as you start to crawl Back in your cage The only place Where they will leave you alone 'Cause the weak will seek the weaker 'til they've broken them Could you get it back again Would it be the same Fulfillment to their lack of strength at your expense Left you with no defence They tore it down And I have felt the same As you, I've felt the same As you, I've felt the same Locked inside the only place where you feel sheltered where you feel safe You lost yourself in your search to find something else to hide behind The fearful always preyed upon your confidence Did they see the consequence They pushed you around The arrogant build kingdoms made of the different ones breaking them 'til they've become just another crown And I have felt the same As you i've felt the same As you I've felt the same As you I've felt the same Refuse to feel, anything at all refuse to slip, refuse to fall can't be weak, can't stand still You watch your back, 'cause no one will you don't know why they had to go this far traded your worth for these scars for your only company don't believe the lies that they told to you not one word was true you're alright, you're alright, you're alright And I felt the same As you I've felt the same As you I've felt the same As you I've felt the same (ladadadada) As you I've felt the same (ladadadada)

Dog Demon Posted December 14, 2004 Author #20 Share Posted December 14, 2004 Another sad song is "This isn't what we meant", by Savatage. We dared to ask for more But that was long before the nights began to burn You would have thought we'd learned You can't make promises all based upon tomorrow Happiness, security are words we only borrowed For is this the answer to our prayers, is this was God has sent? Please understand this isn't what we meant The future couldn't last, we nailed it to the past With every word a trap that no one can take Back from all the architects who find their towers leaning And every prayer we pray at night has somehow lost its meaning For is this the answer to our prayers, is this was God has sent? Please understand this isn't what we meant A long time ago when the world was pretty Standing right here in a different city They're not coming back any more They're not coming back any... Is this the answer to our prayers, is this was God has sent? Please understand this isn't what we meant
JennRose Posted December 14, 2004 #21 Share Posted December 14, 2004 (edited) My very favorite song to play when I am sad is 'Rain' by Patty Griffin. She's so underrated-- I encourage those of you like those deep, stirring, belt-it-in-your-car powerfully sad songs to try to find it. Oh, it's so good... girty1600 Posted December 14, 2004 #22 Share Posted December 14, 2004 Life boy- Phish Swinging on the lifeline Fraying bits of twine Entangled in the remnants of the Knot i left behind And asking you to help me make it Finally unwind But god never listens to what i say God never listens to what i say And you don't get a refund If you overpray And when the line is breaking And when i'm near the end When all the time spent leading I've been following instead When all my thoughts and memories are Left hanging by a thread God never listens... Stranded on this slender string The minutes seem to last a lifetime Dangling here between the light above And blue below that drags me down But god never listens to what i say God never listens to what i say And you don't get a refund If you overpray
