sign from beyond, or coincidence?

I just remembered this story this morning, and thought ya'll might appreciate it.

My grandfather passed away three years ago. A few days after this happened, my grandmother, while looking through his dresser, found his watch, which had had a dead battery for a while. Only, when she looked at it, not only was it working, but it was at the correct time!

She'd never taken it to get it fixed, and for years he never went anywhere without her, so he didn't either (he was almost blind, couldn't hear, and couldn't even breathe without an oxygen tank)!

So what do ya'll think? Sign from beyond, or coincidence?

I wish i could decide on that. Maybe its a little of both. But you must remember even a broken watch is right two times a day.

I think that is a very sweet story. In some way he trying to tell her is with her and that time is the only thing between them. To restart that old watch on the correct time is a miracle! Don't let anyone tell you otherwize.

I personally believe relatives on the other side leave little trinkets around to make it known that indeed they are watching over you and they made it safe to the other side. Though I would be scared to see an actual ghost, to receive one of these trinkets or something like your family has been going though would be great. Like everyone else said, there are no coincidences. When I posted a news story about a preacher who got shocked by lightning the minute he asked for a sign that God exists, I got a few people saying "Good thing the big man upstairs still flexes his muscles" and I also got "Pure coincidence" But there are websites devoted to this kind of stuff, how can it be fake?

Thanks guys. I personally see it as a sign, too original.gif .

The world is too beautiful and mysterious, IMO, to chalk everything up to coincidence! It's good to know that others feel that way too.

I don't want to diss your story, it might actually be a sign, but I bought a digital watch in 1993. Never changed the battery. The straps have since fallen off and I've had 2 new watches in the interval, but that digital watch keeps on going - and it's bang on time...

That makes (counts fingers) 11 years so far...

I don't think the watch was a digital. And like I said, the battery had been dead for a while prior to his passing.

The only coincidence is that there are no coincidences. I know of countless stories like this one, I have more relatives who have passed and old friends who died sudden tragic deaths than I have living ones sad.gif It was your grandfather for sure thumbsup.gif

After your grandfather died, or after the battery died, it was put away somewhere, I'm assuming a closet right? Filled with clothes and stuff like that? The heat could have actually forced a bit more reactions inside the battery to make it produce electricity again. Or, a gear could just have been loose and when it got picked up, it fell back into place.

Static Electricity would more than likely charge the watch, I've had dead watches charge in my dresser drawer.
