My first foray into social online networking was not through what they call the internet.

It was through something we called BBS's. I started on a vic20 computer witha 300BAUD modem. And the first website I called was The Buy and Sell site run by the paper of the same name.

That is the true internet, each computer dials another computer and connects to a program called a bulletin board system where one could chat, play games trade files etc pretty much like we do on this system now dominated by ISP's Internet Service Providers. The old way could not be censored because there was no way to control everyone like they can now because people are tied into major providers like the phone or cable companies. I think it is time to go back to the bbses. not only will it cut down on ISP charges. it will give you much more privacy and control over who can access your computer.

Mo more ads. And the companies now protesting it like wikipedia can be leaders in teaching people how to do it and supplying the necessary software.

But for you it probably wont matter because just from the tone of that short reply, I have a feeling you have already fallen prey to the control of big brother, you are already sucked into the beliefs the main media pond into your brain with misinformation and subliminal messages. If the government convinces you all grandparents will cause the destruction of life on earth you will quite willingly kill yiour granny in her sleep like a good obedient citizen of the New World Order.

Derailed? The point being that censorship of the internet is like control of the media which is one of the first things you do when you install a police state. Sort of like in Nazi Germany. Have you ever heard the term "brainstorming" You throw out as many ideas as you can no matter how absurd and then sort through them to come up with the most plausible of them to investigate.

What reason would a government ... historically speaking.. have for controling(censoring) all the major media in a country? Well Nazi Germany was such an example. Also I heard that the german people as a whole had no idea what was really going on, like sheep they just followed their shepherd voice Hitler and believed all was well with the world and that the "homeland" was secure and being taken care of. They are the men behind the curtain who are trying to close the gap in their curtain called the "internet". And how do you stop this from happening when democrats and republicans meet and shake hands after voting on bills they never even read. While the people the do NOT represent even though those people voted for them are gnashing their teeth at their non representation.

The only solution is for the disenfranchised voters to form new political parties and stop voting democrat and republican. Start voting for people who WILL represent you. Maybe anonymous needs to take off their masks and step up to the plate and challenge the pork barrellers at the ballot boxes.

Yes. What you are doing is not brainstorming. Brainstorming is about coming up with as many ideas as possible. You are pretty much stuck on one. And you never bother to sort through them, and you never bother to consider their plausibility.

As long as you insist on holding on to the same result, it doesn't matter what explanations you come up with. You will still be close-mindedly set on finding the same result.

I don't do much different than anyone else. But I do think it is time to find a way to stop the abuses these huge corporations have been paying billions of dollars to get away with. Perhaps some kind of boycot of services and or products is in order.
