It could have simply broken off because of those who was grabbbing his arm to touch him. Most probably Bush didn't notice it or simply let it go. I mean how many fine watches do you think he has now as a gift?

White House: No Watch-Gate

(AP) Whatever happened to the president's watch?

One moment President George W. Bush was glad-handing Albanians on Sunday, proudly sporting a watch with a dark strap on his left wrist. Moments later, it was gone.

Did it fall off? Did one of his bodyguards remove it? Or did one of the crowd artfully slip it off his wrist and pocket it?

The United States Embassy in Albania on Tuesday emphatically denied that Bush's watch was stolen during his visit to the country, where he was acclaimed as a hero.

More of the article here... Link

Hmm... Why doesn't they just show us the watch whoever has it for evidence?

This is just another example of outsourcing.

Presidential aid, worrying about the presidential diary.

"Mr president, don't you know what time it is ? "

The Man.

"I've outsourced that to a chap in Albania... I'll get back to you"

Meow Purr.

Now that would be a good one! Whatever happened to it, somebody has it and are probably holding onto it as a keep sake or something. Bush is the first president to visit Albania in a long time...if ever. Just think of the stories that guy could tell at work the next day.

I hate to break up the gleeful little party here, but it has just been proven that no one stole the President's watch. I wactched ABC News today and they ran the tape frame by frame -- it showed that Bush actually paused, took off his watch, and put it in his pocket.

Tony Snow also confirmed that the watch is still very much on old G.W.'s wrist.

But, anyway, it was a fun story while it lasted.
