1Ophelia Posted June 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2012 I need help with calculations; I am not the scientific type and need help to figure out the correct calculations for a planet that is habitable for human life! - A planet that is smaller than earth not that much smaller though... - has yellow start, producing light (like our sun) ... - A planet that has day and night in all areas of the planet! I found calculations though I don't know how accurate they are? Start Type: Yellow Main Orbit 1.3 AU and planet Mass 3.5; apparently these calculations would make this planet habitable? If you would like to add any other needed information please share, like I said I am not the scientific type =) Thankyou...
The Lone Ranger Posted June 28, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2012 (edited) - Distant to star(s) - Distant to other planets (in same planetary system) - Magnetosphere - Atmosphere (incl. nessasary elements and the proportions have to be right) Perhaps you can use Drake`s equation as well Edited June 28, 2012 by The Lone Ranger
