Losing people close to my heart recently has made me stop and think.  Although I miss them all dearly and am mourning their departure from my life, I have been reminded of just how precious and beautiful life is and to not take anyone for granted.
Each loss represented something special to me: Strength, courage, a sense of humor, youthfulness, and most of all, love.
This has shown me to not be so busy that I cannot take the time to talk to someone, hold their hand, give them a hug or simply to sit and listen.

I met with the dog lady yesterday.  Another long conversation about her dogs with little interest in anything that I had to add.  After quickly becoming bored I decided to throw the Pug question into the mix. "I bet you adore Pugs then, what with all your dogs and walks."  No, was her blunt answer.  Hoping this would derail her flow turned into a right disaster as she then showed me more images of relatives and their dogs...yawn

My aunt on my mom's side died this morning.  That makes 4 relatives and my best friend in a little over 5 months.   I'm ready to be done with funerals for a long time.

I have a sore throat and regretted going to work. Not going to work tomorrow if I'm still sick.
