We were here when the Romans came and still here when they left.
      We survived the Normans
Plague failed to kill us off, and we rose. Phoenix like, from the ashes of the Great Fire.
Civil war did not diminish us.
In the Great War death came from the skies, first from Zeppelins and then from bombers.
In the Second World War we survived the Blitz and the V1s and V2s. In both wars we held firm.
We have suffered terrorism from anarchists, Irish republicans, Palestinians and other assorted groups and individuals and we suffered the atrocities of 7/7.
      This is London!
Did you REALLY think you could scare us?
