I think that ley lines are real, but I have no idea what their purpose could be. I read somewhere that they cross in important energy centers at different places on the planet. There is such system of lay lines close to Mesa Verde in Colorado. I lived in Colorado for two years but never got the chance to go there, they say it is a very interesting pueblo village. The hopi indians have a legend saying that there are 7 energy centers on the planet and when the people have arrived in the world these centers were marked in a special way - may be these are the lay lines, who knows...

Hello.

Leys really exist.
Being French, I am lucky enough to live in a country in which, are numerous ancient sacred sites (mainly churches). The templars and "Cathares" (don't know the English word) for instance built there churches at places in which the vibrations / energies were highly powerfull.
In almost all churches built before 1350, you can notice that there is a crossing of leys located usually at the altar or the tower. This, we call an "energy-centre".
That makes the energy rise at these points.

But leys are just one element to build churches according to ancient procedures. Indeed, below megaliths or ancient churches, there are waterveins which provide more energy. You also have earth energy such as the Hartmann and Curry fields.

I can personnally say such things, because I am a dowser and particularly appreciate the use of energy on sacred places. this is part of my experience.

Bye

Olivier

Ley lines have been covered a few times in this forum already, click below and you will find some useful links.  Hope this helps.

There is no evidence whatsoever for Ley Lines...their existence can be blamed on the same type of thinking that had "phlogiston" produced by flame and an "ether" through which everything in space is always moving.

Their "discoverer" saw nothing supernatural, only the possible remains of an ancient trade route, when he first noticed that a series of old sites lined up roughly straight.  Since then lines have been arbitrary drawn to criss-cross all over the globe.  Interestingly, they highlight Stonehenge and the pyramids at Giza, but not Atlantis nor the pyramids in China.  Why?

It is hard to tell their real action.

Stones work like sponges in terms of atmosphere. That is : if a lot of people pray during many centuries in a church, they will fill the building with a special "spiritual" atmosphere.

This effect is added to the "energetic" one.

So, finally, when you measure the vibrations of the place with a pendulum, it rises very high. What comes from the energy? What comes from the spiritual atmosphere?

Ley lines are a fact, but we mustn't forget the telluric fields (Hartmann, Curry...) which are intelligently used in ancient churches, the water-veins which are quite systematically present under churches - and at peculiar depths. Let's not forget telluric chimneys, vortex...

What must be understood is that "cosmo-telluric architecture" is a kind of receipe : you have to use necessary ingredients. And you can add more ingredients, if you like (like a cherry on the cake). Ley lines are made by man and are added after the creation of the building.

i'm pretty sure my town is a ley line nexus thingy. not the good kind either. it just feels wrong. tourists mention it, that something about the place just seems...bad.

As far as we can tell, the energy of these lines if left untouched seems to be about 2 miles wide.  If you go to http://earthgrid.cjb.net, you'll see lists of places that are along a 120-triangle global grid system that I just called the "Blue Grid" for a lack of a better name.  This grid seems to be placed rather accurately for the real world, when you start looking at the junction points in the 120 grid triangles.  One is junction "W" in the Allard Corners or Pine Bush, NY area, which has been a UFO hotspot for ages.

There's too much info to throw at the average person about this grid, because it makes your head swim to try and cram everything into one forum post.  But basically, the original calculation of 62 nodes for this grid came from John Sinkiewicz.  The website for that list of 62 nodes was deleted, but not before I grabbed it back in early 2001.  This global grid starts out by drawing a star pattern on the earth with 6 anchor nodes.  By "star" I mean drawing those connected lines inside a pentagon.  Then you take that star pattern, and get the antipodes to draw the same star pattern on the opposite side of the earth.  Then you connect these 12 anchor nodes with 60 different line segments, and VOILA: you get 120 spherical right triangles.  By drawing those 60 line segments, you get the coordinates for the other 50 nodes.  So 12 anchor nodes plus 50 others is 62 nodes.  See?

Not everyone wants to believe that any place on earth has odd energy, but it seems to be one of those "I guess you have to be there" ideas.  An example of a strange place without a doubt is near Deadman Mountain and Kiamichi Mountain near Heveaner, Oklahoma.  Unless you have a heart as cold as death, you can't help but notice that just about everyone is "ornery" there.  So people don't seem to want to acknowledge that 5 leylines criss-cross there.  Another oddity about this area is the "X-Forest" that was found, where someone had broken down thin tree trunks and placed them in X's on the ground.  The X-forest just kinda gives you the willies, seeing as how it just happens to be near this same major junction.  Keep in mind I found this X forest just by chance, not because I was trying to make a grid match this area.

What I have found almost always is that these lines are matching up with the places you've ALREADY BEEN TO.  You didn't need me to tell you something was "weird" with a specific place.  But having the lines does help.

And what about the extremely-high accident prone areas near you?  Did you want to even care that a grid or ley line is running through there?

I must caution you: no one should attempt to learn about this ley line stuff unless you have a loving heart or... how should I put it?  ...unless you always avoid lower reactive emotions... or unless you are always connected to your aura.  People word things differently.  'Cause even if you take a screaming skeptic to a major grid junction, it won't do a bit of good if the person isn't connected to their soul at all.  It is possible to place so much powerful energy at these major grid junctions, that even the most ornery people have no choice but to be "good" again.  But the most insistent teenagers attempt to rebel against the positive energy when you do that, and try any and all attempts to make the area feel "bad" again.  There's a whole heap of spirits that get ticked off when you play "Earth Accupuncture" like this.  But it all comes down to: do you want loving energy spread around the world?  Or not?

Due to a lack of server space, I had to free-host a gigunda amount of grid maps somewhere else.  Below are grid maps for all states, plus a bunch of other stuff.  Closeup grid maps have been made for California and the Salt Lake City area.

Seattle has mapped out all of their ley lines within the city. They are using it to create a better atmosphere between man and the buildings and statues they place on them.

How exactly do you measure the difference in energy, to distinguish a ley line? What type of device or method is utilized in mapping these ley lines?

How do we know that this energy travels in a straight line, not a wave nor wrinkle?

There is no evidence to say that ley lines are permanent, where as this hinted line of energy re-routes for some reason.......cause unknown?

Apparently you can use a dowsing rod to detect ley lines.

I would like to know if there are ley lines in southern Illinois? I believe ancient sites around Shawnee National Forest would be a possibility because of the Native Americans who lived in the area?

You asked this question in a ten year old thread.

But to answer, there are Ley lines wherever you want them to be.

Same with elves and fairies.

As to this, look for the Kincaid Mounds Historic Site.

Kincaid, while associated with the later Mississippians (mound-builders,) has artifacts dating as far back as the Archaic Period (up to 8,000 BC.)
You're in the middle of the (former) stomping grounds of what's called the Middle Mississippian Culture ("only" around 1,000 to 1500 years old.).
