A very pretty sight it was. Almost like it was ordained, the snow in the Mid-Atlantic ended and the front had pushed through just as the eclipse began, and it wound up crystal clear and a full red-turquoise edged eclipse manifested.
A nice way to spend the evening...although I've never been able to get the idea out of my head of what it would be like once totality occurred...from the surface of the Moon.
Imagine being able to stand there, as the Earth passed behind the Sun, and seeing a red ring in the sky, and that reddish tint all around you!
Someday, hopefully...some human will see what no eyes have ever beheld.
