Well, today I walked into my local movie rental and saw that there was yet another Tremors movie! It was titled "Tremors 4; The Legend Begins". So, being curious, I rented the new release because I loved the other ones.
Its a prequel that takes place in 1889. If you look close enough at one of the characters, you can find something funny (only if you've seen the others).
It was actually pretty good for a prequel. I was just wondering if anyone else had seen this movie.

The first movie was a classic grin2.gif Really good movie...the second one was okay, but migrated a bit too much into the comedy genre...

The third one was aweful wacko.gif And, if the pattern keeps up, I'd guess the 4th one would keep with the current gradient, and be worse still...however, I'll take your word for it that it was good, and try my best to see it sometime wink2.gif

I read about the th movie ages back when they had just released the series, but I hadn't realised they'd finished it yet.

I was driving around Atlanta last week scanning through radio stations and happened to stop on some station playing "Drop Kick Me Jesus, Through the Goal Posts of Life"

which immediately brought to mind this movie...

It's what's playing on the radio in the station wagon buried in the dirt.

whatta song!
If I can’t be a good example, then I’ll settle with being the horrible warning.

In my opinion. The Tremors movies are a complete classic and are one of the best Sci-Fi movies ever to be made. Better than some today.

All 4 movies were great and Burt was my favourite character.

4th one was decent. My favorite is the first one as all original films are better than then their sequels. But the prequel wasn't that bad. The thing i didn't like was the punt gun (or whatever they used) in the end. Threw me off a bit. All together i give the movie a 3 out of 5

Tremors is an AWESOME series! Tremors 2 was my favorite. However, I found that Tremors 3 was a complete joke in comparison to it's predesessors because they made a couple crucial mistakes. One of which: in the beginning of the movie, Bert Gummer states that 1 graboid will produce 6 Shriekers. We know this to be false since in Tremors 2, one graboid was only capable of producing 3 Shriekers...As for 'The Legend Begins', it was a slightly corney movie (and somewhat predictable) but still an excellent piece to the puzzle...

I'm pretty sure I read a few weeks back that Tremors is due for a remake.... I think if they make it serious and stray away from the comedy it could be an awesome start to a new horror/monster movie series.

If they make it without Michael Gross, the movie just won't be right, it'd be like redoing Army of darkness without Bruce Campbell. Beside, parts of what made the movie fun was the comedy. Can't imagine a mvoie about giant killer worms being taken very seriously.

Michael Gross is starting to get real old.... I could totally see how the concept of a small desert town being attacked by prehistoric worms could work as a serious survival horror movie.
