Mr-X, thanks for the trivia, I enjoyed it.
Regarding the duck's quack....... maybe it has something to do with the resonance of the quack having very short sound waves and hence not being able to bounce back? Or maybe the quack consists of differing sound waves that cancel each other out once they hit a surface  8) Oh boy, I think I've got too much time on my hands.  :sg

Echoes are a little bit like a reflection in the mirror. You look in a mirror, your reflection bounces back at you. Instead of being a light wave, though, an echo is a sound wave that bounces back after sound hits a solid object. The quack of a duck does indeed echo.

Elephants are the only animals that can't jump.
Hippos definately can't jump either, and although I'm not absolutely certain, I believe that rhinos can't jump either.
