Passion Of The Christ has in just 5 days
Taken in over $117.5 Million!

Is it not kinda strange that so many
are spending so much to watch a man
being tortured and beaten to death
in a very graphic manner?

Is this exploiting the graphic death of a man?

hmmmm

Another thread that has now been locked asked the question Who Killed Jesus?

I answered the question in the thread but now would like to modify the statement
I made by adding this:

John 10:17,18 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down
my life - only to take it up again. No one takes it from me but I lay it down
of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.

Is it expoiting the graphic death of a man? No. It is the expression of one's
love for the sacrifice of God for man.

There are a number of movies that you can watch where people are decapitated, sliced open, shot a few hundred times and a whole lot more. Slow motion, multiple angles and every trick of the trade.

Did this movie exploit the suffering of Christ.

Not really. It showed what at that time, was considered 'normal' punishment for offenders in the Roman empire. It is graphic to say the least. But it is correct to the amount of damage that would have been done to a human body using the tools that are depicted in the movie.

I find the amount rather low, as I thought it was opening in more theaters.
If you have a belief in Christ I suggest you see it.
If not then you can save your cash.

Peace

now when people ask me if i read the bible, I can say:

"No, but I saw the movie"
I have morals, they're just subject to revision as the situation dictates.
