I don't assume everyone lies, only the people I don't know very well . I'm more or less cautious of who I don't know, I know they have no reason not to lie since they have no connection to me (unless they have evidence to back up what they are selling or what have you is true). I for one am a pretty honest and blunt person and have always been ever since I was little. I see no reason to lie when the truth is much more believable to me. I'm not saying their aren't more out there like me, I'm just saying I'd rather be safe then sorry until I can honestly trust the person (Once bitten twice shy deal here for me).
You are right about the buyer might or might not get what he is paying for and would never really be able to know which is what I was also getting at. "Buyer Beware" is a very truthful statement for this.
