People keep saying that she must be for real because she is risking her reputation by setting a date for this visitation. On the surface, that's what it looks like. This calculated risk is just drawing attention to the fact that she exists because she knows that for everyone that loses faith in her on October 15th, there will be two more who don't lose faith and buy into whatever excuse she makes for the lack of aliens on the 14th. By then, she will have doubled her profits, and doubled her fan base. I would like to think that when nothing happens on the 14th, that everyone will stop buying her books or contacting her for readings, but there are always people willing to believe anything that they are told, people who want to have hope in anything, and people who don't want to believe that they've been had. The sad part is that many people will be affected by this come October 14th, probably in a negative way, and you know what she'll be doing? Probably buying a bigger house.

I'd second that. This woman and the whole Federation of Light set-up is definitely fishy. If you read the "messages", you see that there are plenty of escape-clauses woven in. I'll bet you my bottom dollar that shortly before the 14th, she'll get a message that it won't happen (now) because security is compromised, we're not ready, after all, we don't want it enough, cosmic reasons xyz we can't understand...

Admitted, she's a bit cleverer than the usual run-of the-mill "prophets" by being doubtful, questioning, self-deprecating, humble, etc. in her "dialogues" with our galactic friends, but really...!

Honestly, why do so many people refuse to use a bit of common sense when evaluating such claims?

-Ask yourself: Why would an alien race with a supposedly superior technology want to make contact through a medium? Why not simply hi
jack our communication systems and announce themselves globally through tv, radio f. ex.?

-Why have only one ship appear, and not several all over the world?

-Why be so cryptic? Alabama ? Snow Cones? Would we humans do that, if we were to contact another planet?

-Why waffle on about truth and love and light, sounding suspiciously like the current new age/spiritual/mystic wave, vague enough to appeal to the maximum amount of people? Why not simply tune in, say who they are and where they're from ?

-They say they're making contact because they're so worried about the future of humanity and the destruction of the planet. Some of the biggest threats we're facing currently are nuclear weapons, climate change and over-population. Why didn't they show up some 50 - 70 years earlier, before we learned how to split the atom, produced ten thousands of warheads, populations exploded, we pumped out greenhouse gases and depleted our resources on a large scale?

And finally, and most importantly, all those of you who hope so much that alien contact will make such a huge impact, reunite humanity and somehow spiritually catapult us into higher awareness and consciousness:

I'm sorry, but I think you're painfully naive. I tell you what would happen. Firs, there would very likely be terrible fear, insecurity and chaos; a paradigm shift would certainly occur. Then, for a brief period, we probably might feel more united, forget our squabbles. But as soon as we'd gotten used to the idea that we're not alone, we'd return to our old ways. We are what we are. You cannot change people's consciousness over night, you can't leave out steps. Evolution of awareness must be done, experienced and worked through by everybody and civilisation as a whole; and that takes a LOT of time.

Alien contact would override conflicts betw. people & nations- but only temporarily. And I'm positive that a more advanced species would certainly be aware of that.

I quite like Cat Stevens. I trully think his conversion was a real shame and religion has robbed the world of yet another small joy.

Not against the song, I just honestly feel Yusuf would probably be offended by that application.

Hi All

I interviewed Blossom yesterday for my radio show on Ghost Radio in Australia and I asked her flat out if there is a disclaimer lurking anywhere and she is steadfast in her commitment that October 14th is it, in fact she went so far to say that it's no good them turning up on December, she's put her reputation and self out there for the date that she has asked to confirm again and October 14th is what she's sticking to. From what I could tell she is having some very human moments of "oh my god what have I done!" but says she trusts the information.

She did not say Alabama though, if you read the message and she confirmed that it actually says "we give to you the name Alabama" there is actually an "Alabama Hill" in Australia so it could mean that or the name of a ship or whatever, so the only thing she clarified was the Alabama may not mean Alabama in America, but the date she is sticking to.

Strange Days indeed...........

Does she even have a reputation to begin with.

I have never even heard of her, until this supposed alien message.

Exactly. And truthfully, I don't expect her "reputation" to be overly damaged when Oct. 14 comes and goes with no incident.

I doubt she would flat out admit it beforehand, too, if there was an escape clause should the event not occur.

Yes. She hasn't really got much in the way of reputation to lose, has she? The only people who'd heard of her before she started being the medium for the Federation of Light were her fellow members of the channelling community, and I suppose it remains to be seen whether they'd be willing to make allowances if she does prove to have been in error. If someone does believe in her, I don't suppose they'd let any small disappointments put them off, they'd be willing to make allowances, I expect.

On the subject of Alabama, here are some other suggestions, courtesy of our friend Wiki and his pedia:

Alabama can also mean:

Alabama (people), a Native American group
Alabama language, spoken by the Alabama people
Alabama (band), a country rock music band
Alabama (moth), a genus of noctuid moths
Alabama, New York, both a town and a community in that town
Alabama River
University of Alabama
CSS Alabama, a confederate cruiser
USS Alabama, any of several U.S. Navy ships
Alabama Claims
"Alabama" (Neil Young song), a song by Neil Young
Alabama (album), an EP by underground band CHN
Alabama (book)
"Alabama", a composition by John Coltrane based on a speech by Martin Luther King
Alabama (Beanie Baby), a Beanie Baby teddy bear produced by Ty, Inc. as a Hurricane Katrina fundraiser.

(The Alabama Claims, incidentally, were a series of claims for damages by the government of the U.S. against the government of the United Kingdom for the perceived covert assistance given to the Confederate cause during the American Civil War.)

So whatever anyone may wish to make of all that, I leave it to them to decide.

Hahah. Very true.

BTW, I'm new to this Federation of Light thing. Sure, I want all nations to have peace and the world to have peace, and wars ended, corruptions ended and all greed - through greed is natural in man - to diminish in time. But an external force doing this, I might rather call this a little bit too - uh - forced.

Humanity have always repaired themselves in time. That's why all men have a good side in them. That's why the United Nations formed short after the WWII. That's why you care about your loved one. No, this is not about love, this is about you, and humanity of all people. Now humans, answer my question. This would be a short one. Are we too damaged we could not repair ourselves anymore?
Pity... clearly, fame isn't everything, is it, Mr. Potter?

Actually, divination by Wiki (or Wikination) can be quite interesting. I aloso found:

Blossom can refer to:

Blossom, the flowers of stone fruit trees and of some other small plants.
Blossom (mathematics), a functional for polynomials.
Blossom (TV series), a 1990s American television series.
Blossom (novel), a 1990 novel by Andrew Vachss.
Blossom Dearie, a USA Jazz singer
Blümchen (Jasmin Wagner), a German singer who uses the name Blossom when singing in English.
Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Blossom Rock, American actress
Blossom, a character in the American animated series The Powerpuff Girls.
Operation Blossom - post WWII use of lengthened V-2 rockets at White Sands Proving Grounds, with four successful launches out of seven[1]
Blossom (Software): software approach agains internet fragmentation (e.g. cencorship) using Tor (anonymity network) but with focus on for reachability instead of anonymisation.[2]

while Goodchild, meanwhile,

Michael Frank Goodchild, British-American geographer
Nicola Goodchild
Trevor Goodchild, fictional character in the MTV cartoon Ĉon Flux
Goodchild family of hobbits in the The Lord of the Rings

Interesting, though what it could all mean, I wouldn't like to say.
