I think this falls under the heading of some people will believe anything.
I think it's a interesting a story on how the whole thing was concocted.
Has a historical note, the quote ‘‘There’s a sucker born every minute.’’ is generally credited to P.T. Barnum, but it was, in reality David Hannum that made the statement. The reason it was credited to Barnum is because he was the one being sued, and his name was more recognizable to the general public.

Yea this was on Daily Planet last night... Along with the Cardiff Giant, they had the famous bigfoot video, which they also said was a hoax...

Tell me it ain't so, bigfoot a hoax,
heck he was the main reason i moved to the northwest. 
Cardiff Giant: I don't know why anyone would believe this was real, he11 we already said it was a hoax a year after it was 'discovered'

No I said the video was a hoax... the patterson video... not bigfoot himself.
