Let me guess, you picked out yet another colorful box with a crank that I'm expected to turn and turn until OOP! big shock, a jack pops out and you laugh and the kids laugh and the dog laughs and I die a little inside.

Isn't that the one that turned out to be a fraud?

It was a pet of one of the neighbors or something.

If that is indeed real, I never knew hogs could get that big.

Probably not, hogs like that are nothing but dangerous. They will eat anything that is smaller than they are, yes, even people. They are true monsters. Usually they are domestic that escape or are set free, (silly idea) and then they get bigger and bigger and more and more wild. While they are domestic they are given growth hormones to make bigger pig, bigger pig, more money. Escaped bigger pig turns in to a monster in a few years. There is nothing natural about it, well, as far as I know but anything is possible I suppose.

I'm pretty sure you're right. If I recall correctly, I remember reading an interview with the kid and his dad about how they got the kid to put his foot on a bucket and pose for that picture, but he was actually 10 feet behind the animal, using perspective to make it look much bigger than it was.

PETA don't really care about the situation. The animal died for some reason or another, so that's a big deal to them. But seriously, who cares about PETA? Hypocrites if there ever was one.

actually not saying this one is real but my grandpa and dad raised hogs and we had one we took to market that was about four feet at the arch or her back and had a hanging weight of about 875 pounds (hanging weight is with the guts gone). no growth harmone just a home grown sow.
