Yeah I know i've been paying attention, but wouldn't it be better to wait and see the whole product before you declare it 'butchered'?

Well its supposed to be a scene by scene re creation. pretty much the comic in moving pictures. How did they screw the ending? I herad they didnt want to kill a certain character at ened in case they could make some sort of franchise with it. But the trailer gave that death away or did it? i dont know i asumed anyway yeah i will be quiet read the

What I heard was that the entire movie was accurate except for the ending, in which Dr. Manhattan is blamed for destroying the city and not aliens, and that they kill the man who actually destroyed the city, instead of him living like in the comics.
This information may or may not be true.

First part is true you can kind of even see it in the trailers...I think the second part is false but am not sure, I think it may have bin what the studio wanted but the director changed their minds...or I just imagined reading that somewhere.
The ending should still have the same effect I think. The giant alien squid was a lil too out there even for comics it wouldn't fly in the movie especially with the gritty realistic dark tone. By ditching the squid it also saves a lot of screen time because of the side story about the artists and scientists and stuff, the director already had to fight for screentime. Dr. Manhattan should still have the same effect. At that time in the book a faked rogue Manhattan would still make an alliance between america and russia as the alien squid did, especially considering that Manhattan was set up and hated by everybody previously in the book. Ozzy is still faking an attack and since Manhattan leaves Earth anyways it has no bearing on his character. I think it will have the same exact effect but it won't be so 'jumping the shark' and be a bit more believable.

They won't make a sequel....the director said that he wouldn't come back and the cast and crew wouldn't either. There is no sequel to the book and Alan Moore won't ever write one just so another movie can be made(unlike Miller who might do a 300 sequel so they can make another movie off it). So doing a sequel to Watchmen would be as bad as making a sequel to Saving Private Ryan and have it with the Tom Hanks and Matt Damon in WW3(well almost that bad)
The trailer didn't give away any deaths...the teasers, imo opinion have failed to tell the audience what the movie is actually about.

I agree. Everyone I know is all hyped about the movie and none of them have a clue what it's actually about except for me and one friend who also read the graphic novel.

I hope so. I just get so fed up with Hollywood rewriting stories. With the crap they're calling the Dragonball movie coming out, I'm a little bitter with movie recreations at the moment.
