I suspect this is going to be much like the butterfly effect 2. Straight to video and crap.

The studio yes....
B movies like this serve as a platform for up and coming directors to make a big break with a small budget.
There is a chance this could be a good movie, I especially hate it when people write off a movie before they see it. I say give it a chance before you pass judgment first.

What's wrong with s2v movies? A lot of good movies are released directly 2 video... As I said above at least give it a chance first.

Some are pretty great, the majority of them I've found to be meh. I'll watch it, I just doubt it's going to be good.

The truth is that you CAN'T make a sequel to a masterpiece. You just can't. They will all be epic failures. Its just like a cosmic truth or something. Look at the Lost Boys 2. Gah, I thought I was gonna puke it was so bad.

I agree people should watch a movie before judging the film but some movies they should not make a sequel for and I think Donnie Darko is one of those movies. It was one of those movies that was unique and left you with something to think about. To watch the second movie that could be a good film might ruin the experience you had with the first movie. I almost rented the movie myself but I felt that it was better to keep the story of the first film since I like the orginal characters such as Donnie Darko himself and didn't want to spoil it by watching a story about his sister, then again I could be missing out.
I diffently don't think they should have used the Frank's rabbit mask in the second movie since it was his design... I hope there was a reason for using it in the second movie.
