Jacob is definitely real; he's been cast for the finale. My theory is that Jacob has somehow been trapped and needs Locke to kill him to release him from his prison. I'm really confused about how Ben, Richard and Widmore play into all this, as well as Smokie. The Smoke monster serves whatever the temple worships. Richard took Ben to the temple so that Jacob could heal him as a child. This seems to indicate that Jacob is the object of the temple's praise, unless he's like some kind of high priest or something, and the island itself is the object of the temple's praise. If it is the former, then Jacob clearly wishes to be killed, as I have thought. If it is the latter, then perhaps the island is ridding it of a corrupt representative.

Same thing as John.

The dead rise - if the Island likes them or something.

-Shrug- How did the black horse play into it tongue.gif . Maybe we'll get a couple questions answered by the end of the series.

The horse, Christian, Mr Eko's brother, the medusa spiders (you hear the smoke moster just before they appear), and Ben's daughter are all manifestations of the smoke monster. Why that is and for what purpose? Well, I'm sure they'll tell us soon unsure.gif .

So who do you think is going to die? I'm going with either Sawyer (my sister seriously hopes not laugh.gif ) or Juliet, because when a couple say they love each other the way Sawyer and Juliet did in the last episode, in TV it's usually a signal that one of them will die.

The producers are saying a major character will die. Now I know Faraday did, but I don't really consider him to be a shock death. A red herring perhaps?

I'm most frequently wrong, but Christian, Mr Eko's brother, the medusa spiders and Ben's daughter I'm definately right about. The producers said they were big ol' smokey.

EDIT: Actually, not sure about the horse, it could just be left over from the DHARMA Initiative.

I was hoping something would be resolved with the finale, but no! nothing! this show is driving me nuts! i can't imagine how they are going to wrap it all up next season. I am so curious what happened to Claire...

It would seem she shacked up with the Smoke Monster/Locke. She's going to be a season regular next season.

Since the new mysterious character appeared in the the season 5 finale, I believe he took on the appearance of John Locke. I wonder if he has also been impersonating Christian Sheppard this whole time. It seems he and Jacob have been somewhat manipulating the 815 survivors the whole time, even before they reached the island. Any thoughts?

That man is the Smoke Monster, and he and Jacob have been involved in what appears to be a grand chess match for control of the island. Even though Jacob is dead, he's set his final strategy into motion, and with his final words he warns his enemy, "they're coming," meaning the Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Sayid and Miles.

This is NOT a spoiler. This is my personal theory, based on nothing other than the episodes shown thus far.

No. Jack was right that there destiny was to go back to the island, but not so they could erase their past. It was their destiny to cause the incident, which they were trying to prevent, so that their plane would crash in the first place. The incident that they have now caused, which caused them to crash, which caused them to come back and cause the incident, will send them to present day island time where their actual destiny lies. So in his foolishness and misintentions, he is actually accomplishing something entirely different than he desires, but what he is destined to do. Upon arrival in present time, they will save the island from the reign of the smoke monster.

Why would the smoke monster be a spider?
I completely disagree with you by the way. I guess I should put my theory on here somewhere.

I KNOW!!!! Answers. Fortunately they said season 6 would answer most of our questions, excluding Libby's back story (unless Cynthia changes her mind (doubt it)) And yay we get to find out about Claire.
