Christopher Lee, whose acting roles have terrified generations of film-goers, is knighted in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.

The veteran star is known for his blood-curdling performances opposite Peter Cushing in the Hammer Horror movies.

He is one of the most prolific actors ever, appearing in more than 250 film and television productions.

I didn't know he wasn't.

Chris Lee is a legend. I love his voice. Very commanding. In any interview I've seen of him, he seems very intelligent and well versed. I always thought he'd be an interesting person to meet.

Edit to add: They also mentioned his records. Didn't know he had the most sword fights in film.

Fill your bowl to the brim and it will spill. Keep sharpening your knife and it will blunt. Chase after money and security and your heart will never unclench. Care about people's approval and you will be their prisoner.

Do your work, then step back. The only path to
serenity.

I've been lucky enough to meet him at an event and he is a very interesting guy; we talked about his singing and he said nobody ever asked him about that, so he was pleased. We actually have a close friend (the best man at our wedding) who knows Christopher Lee, though I've never been able to wrangle myself an introduction!

I have the Heavy Metal Rhapsody of Fire DVD/CD set with Christopher Lee singing a duet with their Italian lead singer (it belongs to my BF actually). I could not find the YouTube version of the video I have with Lee and Fabio(?) singing with the orchestra live, but I did find the regular video featuring Lee. He's got a beautiful singing voice and as I understand it, he's never been trained to sing at all. This is some pretty epic stuff. LOL

Thanks for the link; Rick has that same set (I bought it him)!. I also recommend his musical comedy movie, The Return of Captain Invincible, which is a different kind of role for him...

He sings? Phenominal. Good for him, I bet his voice is jut wonderful. Unfortunately the audio on my computer doesn't work... another saved link to check out when we get the problem fixed! original.gif

I'm glad you got to meet him, and that he was an interesting chat(/chap).
