Well as you are proberlly aware that the cloverfield monster was a baby(look in dvd extras and wikipedia).
So the question is, is still alive? or a bigger cloverfield comes along?

Well i have been doing some homework over the past week and at last have found some...evidence of a sequel or prequel.
I found this of www.filmofilia.com which is like a movie website. Anyway there's some intresting pictures and a document, which looks to be before the monster attacks New York City.

Here is one of th photos but i think it's the parasites feeding on the ocean floor.picture 1

It shows a mini sub looking at some parasites.

The next photo appears to be a mini cloverfield which appears to be attacking some sort of underwater steel platform.
picture 2

This is the start of my findings and later i will show you another picture but of what a dead whale that cloverfield has being eating.

Considering the first one sucked so completely, I'm not sure why they'd try this path again.

Eh the first one wasn't bad... I mean there is worse out there. but I don't know if it warranted a sequel . but if they are making one the first picture must have made enough money to think so.

JJ Abrams confirmed this awhile ago I thought?

He was talking about how they could possibly do a movie where another group of people had a camera rolling too. The idea was that in today's tech filled world, there's going to be a lot of people that you can see have stories.

<SPOILER (yeah, I hate spoiling things>
I've also heard speculation that the 2 at the end of the first didn't die in the end and might continue their story somehow.

I'm all for a Cloverfield 2 as long as it isn't as boring as Star Trek is (hate me all you want, it felt like a long boring episode of LOST! haha)

Star Trek felt like Lost? Not to derail the topic, but what exactly did you find to be similar? I'm an avid Lost fan, and I saw Star Trek, and I don't see any similarities.

The first one wasn't bad but seriously.

SPOILER WARNING For those who haven't seen Cloverfield.

I hate films where all the main characters decide to get killed off during the film, having none left at the end.

You don't necessarily know if they died or not, the tape just ends.

I'm sure it was the filming style, that seems to be what most people have a problem with.

I went into the cinema expecting a piece of ****, and left feeling like I had been thoroughly entertained for an hour and a half. Shotgun sequel

I heard a while ago a sequel was planned but in this next one its the view point of the monster. But who knows. I think they need to make this one a good old monster flick and forget the hand held camcorder crap
