IMO it depends, Family Guy is much better than anything The Simpsons has done after the "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson" (the last truely great Simpsons episode). Before and upto "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson", The Simpsons wipe the floor with Family Guy.
I totally agree. Simpsons has become PC and totally unfunny. I've noticed recently that it is constantly making Family Guy-esque jokes, clearly trying to appeal to a different market and alienating its core fans.

Do I sense mild insult in that little comment?

I like the Simpsons better. It's not as foul or... offensive? as Family Guy. I don't feel bad about watching the Simpsons with my family, but I wouldn't sit in the same room with them if Family Guy happened to be on.
Not to mention the immense amount of talent the voice actors of the Simpsons are capable of. It blows my mind.
Which is why I love Family Guy. If you let your family snuggle up and watch a wholesome episode of Family Guy, you're an idiot! The complete REASON it is so good is because it had no taste whatsoever. Killing hookers, singing about aids and underage rape are subjects so serious that Simpsons never attempts them. Family Guy on the other hand knows that it's audience has no taste and it delivers! It is clever (Yes I called Family Guy clever) and, at least nowadays, has much better writing than any Simpsons episode.
