she was to weak to go out to a theatre and the family knew she didn't have much time left so they made a frantic call to Pixar who sent a man with a DVD copy of the movie for a private screening in her home. The girl died 7 hours after watching the movie. It's a nice story and it's a wonderful thing that pixar did for the young girl. it brings a few tears to your eyes when you read it

QUOTE (Dicky D)
They granted a dying girl her wish, not only was the gesture incredibly kind but they get good publicity too. It's a win win for everybody.
[uber-sarcasm]What has the movie industry done to deserve such cynicism Dicky D?[/uber-sarcasm]

I actually still like Hollywood....
What I was trying to convey was that Pixar deserved the good publicity because of what they did, it's something that you don't see everyday. It's good to know that some companies and individuals still care about other people.

Pure publicity...My respects go out to the family of the deceased child but shame on Pixar for publicising it. A good deed like this should be nothing more than a quiet, noble gesture and NOT an act done then publicized to make themselves look good for it...
