I just got done watching the movie "The Game" with michael douglas, its an older movie, but i definitly do not understand the ending.. they were all in on it, i got that part.. but what i dont get is WHY they did it to him? and how they knew he would jump off that "part" of the building (haha, hollywood) no but seriously, did they do it so hed be a better person? and he shot his brother, what was the point of that?

Actually one of my favorite movies. Didn't do too well in the box office -- but this is a great film!
As to why they did it to him -- that's simply what the game ws all about -- to put this guy through the most harrowing, life-threatening, mind-blowing experiences they could throw at him -- so that he could be blasted out of his normal routine, his normal world view, and to force him to look at life in a radically different way.
As for how they knew he would jump -- well, that's just Hollywood hoo-ha -- but there explanation would be that they did an extreme psychological profile of his mind at the beginning, so they could predict how he wold react in certain situations -- hey figured, "if we do this and this and this to him, he will react by doing this and this and this."
He shot his brother because they had pushed him over the psychological edge.

i read something, they said all and all, it was what his brother did, his brother set all that up just for his bday present!

That's true, his brother did set it up as a b-day present -- but the company who conducts the game does it for a lot of people. In other words, his brother was not pulling the strings, just participating in the whole event.

An amazing movie
yeah its a present. In regards to the jump from my understanding one of the characters says "thank God you jumped because i f you didnt i was supposed to throw you off".
