Ok, so Jon and Kate have filed for a divorce. Personally I don't blame the guy. Kate seems like she's waaaaay to controlling and bossy. She seems to live in a fantasy world while Jon sees reality for what it is.

The producers of the show probably loved the boom in ratings during all this.

I was wondering this morning if this could all just be a publicity thing and possibly scripted? Just a hunch.

Publicity stunt or not, I can't blame him for checking out on their relationship and finding someone else like he did. Kate is a hard core b1tch, even her ex fiance' said the same. Every episode I've seen shows how much of an evil shrew toward Jon she is. No wonder he bailed, there's only so much abuse one person will take before they just say **EDIT** you, I'm out!

Normally I wouldn't watch the show, or even care for that matter, my girl watches it, and I started rooting for Jon to get some nice side**EDIT**.

I think they're both as bad as each other because they're willing to show their divorce on TV for the price of $75,000 an episode or something like that. All in front of their kids. What great parents!!!

In ten years time people will go up to their kids and say, "I saw your parents b**** and argue and get divorced on television, all for my own entertainment". How proud those kids will be of their parents.

It's disgusting.

I can accept people watching reality shows such as American Idol, Big Brother, the Jungle program but you have to be a sick individual to find this show entertaining.

Does Jon's view of reality involve whoring out his kids for an appartment in Trump Towers?

^^^ Agreed completely. The cameras need to stop and they need to get on their lives like every other family. If it isn't scripted, then they are obviously having serious problems and the cameras are not helping them. They shouldn't be so greedy as to do this to their kids, on public television. I used to feel sorry for them, but now it's just getting ridiculous.

I never said I found it entertaining. In fact I don't even watch it. I hear it from the other room when my WIFE watches it. Since you think know my wife so well...NOT! I don't think you have the right to call people who watch the show a 'sick individual'.

Since I don't watch the show I don't know what you're talking about. Explain, apparently you know more about the show than I do. Do you watch it? tongue.gif

You're right, sick individual is a bit strong and something I shouldn't call your wife or others since I indeed don't know her or them so I'll take that back. My sincere apologies.

I find it strange that this is what passes for entertainment these days.

I saw a report about it on Bill O'Reilly last night tongue.gif . In fact if it wasn't for the segment on Billy O' I'd never have known what you guys were talking about.

I don't know how to expand on "whoring his kids to buy a Trump Towers appartment". I though it was pretty self explanatory.

Watch the movie Idiocracy if you haven't seen it. I think we're heading in that direction.

To be perfectly honest, when I would hear that show on T.V. from the other room I could've cared less about the kids on the show. It was the bickering between Jon and Kate that would spark that one ounce of interest in the show. I would always think to myself, "how the hell can this poor guy take this crap from that control freak?" The kids are actually the least content that the show is about if your really step back and look at the big picture. It's always more about the stress levels in the household.

Jon actually wanted the show to stop. Kate is the one that wants to keep the show going.

I've watched the show maybe once or twice because my roommate had it on. I thought the lady was horrible and the guy didn't stand up for himself.

And I thought they were using their kids for fame and it disgusted me. So, I am not the least bit surprised they're separating. I really hope TLC cancels the show.

I have never watched a full episode.

The lady is a bit shrill. But if I had 8 kids, I would be a raving lunatic.

come on. It was a COMPLETE FRAUD. According to divorce court papers, they've been separated for TWO years. That show was and is a complete sham and y'all fell for it.

I've heard of the show but have never seen an episode. But with all the hype the past few days over this episode, I did flip over to it. At the time, I didn't understand why THEY, the parents, didn't stop the show to work on their marriage. It's obvious the drama and overexposure is a major factor in what happened. Also, Kate seems to be a first class nut. But after reading what ninjadude wrote, that they were separated for some time, it's clear that they were liking all the $$. If they had any kind of consideration for their children or each other, they would have pulled the plug on this ages ago. I feel for the kids. Having spent their whole lives in front of a camera, they'll no doubt be traumatized, if not now but in years to come.
