i think you guys fail to realize that this film was indeed based on a kids cartoon but the kids who watched that cartoon are now approximatly 18+ years old. Kids will still definatly want to see this but the film is aiming at the true transformers fans which as i said are now older i watched the show when i was a kid im 19 now and i have the chance to see my childhood show jump to life. if you guys would have prefered transformers to be made for todays children audience we would have ourselfs another dragonball on our hands. Dragonball also a show for people who are now quite a bit older aimed at the kids of present times and completly jumped over the real fans of the show. Due to this and many other reasons im sure we can all agree on that movie was a pile of crap

That is just ridiculous, so what your saying is for a movie to appeal to the older generation it must have sexual innuendo and dirty jokes?
Hmm....I guess that's exactly why not only kids love Harry Potter, but so do adults!!! The amount of adults I know that lined up for each Harry Potter book that come out is quite numerous...
Continue to make excuses for why we need things that were initially charming and clean completely thrown into the gutter!

I went to go see it the first day it came out man...all I can say is those twin Transformers are annoying and very stereotyped. Blind essentially said all I was thinking, so I say I didn't like it. However, the first one was fantastic. wink2.gif

im not saying it requires dirty jokes and sexual nuendos im saying it shouldnt be dumbed down just for children i think the jokes should be removed and the movie made more serious take the dark knight for instance they didnt make it a simple story for little children to understand they made it a complex and great movie. transformers will and has drawn more fans of the series from along time ago then it has children just watching it. transformers was made in the 80's and has a huge fan base from those times and should be targeted toward those same people. As i said with dragonball it didnt follow the original story, had zero violence and was really cheezy (obviously directed towards kids) is this how you want transformers?

If they want to make a movie like Dark Knight, then don't market it to children; the Dark Knight wasn't. Second, these Transformers movies were popcorn entertainment and nothing like the incredible work of art that is the Dark Knight.

right and thats what im saying dark knigt wasnt marketed towards children yet batman is a kids cartoon and they will want to see it regardless but it is geared towards adults i think the same should go for transformers though its nowhere near the master piece dark knight was it still shouldnt be made for children just because its a childrens cartoon

Both had a children's cartoon show. Batman didn't market their adult movie as the "coming to life" of that children's cartoon show; Transformers did. So we've already had false advertisement from Transformers. Then to top it off, their adult film marketed to children was only adult because of sexual innuendos. The movie wasn't intense, breath taking, philosophical, intellectual, dark, realistic, or deep. The only thing that made it adult was poorly written sex jokes.

Yes, and that is the difference. Transformers could still have been almost exactly the same without cheap, dirty sexual innuendo, it is unnecessary to add certain content. Dragonball Z has nothing to do with this, I highly doubt adding dirty jokes would've made that a better movie? Transformers could've kept the simple story, action, yes explosions, and charm without throwing it into the gutter. People still would've liked it. In fact I have a sneaky suspicion that people would've liked it more.

Well, the plot and acting still would have sucked but they could have legitimately claimed it was geared toward children.

transformers marketed as a coming to life childrens cartoon? hmm i guess that explains why there t shirts at comic con said "even bigger giant ****ing robots are coming" that also must explain why theres contest's such as burger king with winnings of a new 09 camaro, million bucks, and home theaters because those are definatly prizes aimed at the children and no way could they be for adults who are capable of driving and know what the value of a million bucks actually is

Comic Con is aimed at adults, not children. It's a mass gathering of nerdy adults with no lives. The few thousand people at Comic Con isn't their target audience. In this Burger King promotion, were there not Transformers toys in their kids meal?

Not to mention the entire Hasbro toy line that is sold at Toys R US.

Transformers ROTF was Twilight...but for boys.
