I read my first Stephen King book at 13 and loved it. I don't read much of his stuff anymore well I'm am reading the last book of the Dark Tower series and still lovin it. I say go ahead and read it, some scary parts but nothing that will put you in the loony bin lol.

Welcome Abroad Wesker432.
Reading is a very good habbit irrespective of what kind of books you read but the challenge lies in not adopting any negative items from the book.If you understand that all this is imaginations and that imagination knows no bounds I think there is no p[roblem in reading books.Taking an example the church has said to all christians not to read Da Vinci but reading the book and still having firm faith is the challenge. If you are ready to accept this simple theory then there is no age limits for reading anything
Thanks

Do your parents let you watch the news?

If so, yeah, you're old enough to read a book about a killer clown.

You'll be fine. I read it in the fourth grade(although my teacher did end up calling my parents because she thought it was "inapropriate for a person my age") Here's some good advice though: don't tell your parents about how much sex there is in any of Stephen King's books. "IT" is alot better than the piece of crap movie that was made after the book, and it is one of the best books I've ever read.

I would say go ahead and read it, if your parents ask about the book (provided they know nothing about it or Stephen King, which I doubt) tell them about the story and what you have gotten from it. If they object to you reading it for whatever reason, find out why. There were times my parents didn't like me listening to certain music, or watching certain movies but more often then not they would actually get involved by listening to said music or watching said movies. If they found it to be objectionable they would tell me what they thought about it, they would also ask me why I liked whatever I was listening to or watching. Other then the obvious of not letting me watch R rated movies, covering my eyes if boobs came on, or finding the language to course they were pretty relaxed about that sort of thing. You are you're own best judge on this, if reading the book you start getting creeped out then put it down for a while or just read it during the day.
