Hello, sorry if this has been posted before, i did look and couldnt find it.
Over the last few months i keep being awoken with what seems like a loud banging noise on my front door. I swear someone has ran up to my door and just started pounding on it. It scares the living crap out of me, however when i awake i know that its from the final remanants of my dream. This doesn't happen every night but it does happen quite often.
To save someone the trouble of saying "see a doctor" (As if their prescription pad holds the answer to every problem) i've alread been there and done that. I've been to see a few of them and all i ever get is total bemusement along with a prescription for Xanax or Ambien depsite the fact i've told them i'm a single dad with a 2 year old at home so sleep meds are out of the question. If anyone else has experienced this terrifying phenomona and can shed some light on how to fix the problem or what might be causing it, i would be very grateful.
Thanks

Well to be honest how do you know what you expirinced was not in a dream?
The phenomena of continuum dreams exist.
Continuum dream means that you fall asleep but then all of the sudden you wake up thinking you didn't sleep at all but in reality that is a dream.
Those dreams are sub group of false wake up dreams.
