In a situation where you must sacrifice for you religious beliefs would you do so?
Luke8 Vs-44-45

Quote

She came up in crowd behind Jesus and touched at the edge of his cloak and her bleeding stopped at once.Jesus asked "Who touched me?"

Luke 8 Vs48-49

Quote

My daughter , your faith have made you well;Go in Peace

Acknowledging these two quotes I ask-
We receive and share God every Sunday at the holy mass and still we don't have our pains healed or get eternal life...why?

Mark 9:23 And Jesus said to him, "'If you can'! All things are possible for one who believes." 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, "I believe; help my unbelief!"

Sometimes we have to also ask help for our unbelief.

Quote

John 21:3 Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We will go with you." They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. 4 Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Jesus said to them, "Children, do you have any fish?" They answered him, "No." 6 He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish.

Other times instead of casting our nets all night to the left side we simply have to change things a bit up within ourselves to see the reward.

Everything can be put in a good way without insult or canned remarks....If you wish to stay away from giving clear answers then give me your best guess....
I hope all hardcore Christians are seeing the topic and will reply....Otherwise I have a conclusion ;)

Hi Behaviour -- My personal view is that (after the era of the original apostles of Jesus) God has a “hands off” policy towards Mankind. I believe that God now very seldom intervenes directly in the lives of people. That includes answering prayers for healing.

It’s not that God does not care for people now -- just the opposite. I believe that God has laid out a “Master Plan” for the salvation of Mankind, and God’s policy is to allow Mankind to experience all the suffering it brings upon itself. It’s a lesson as to what happens when we don’t live according to God’s will.

As I understand the Bible, the point at which God will intervene to save Mankind from itself will be when Man is on the brink of destroying all life on Planet Earth. That’s when Jesus is to return, and take over the rule of all nations. It will be only then when the prophecies about universal health, peace and well-being for Mankind will be introduced.

Till the time of Jesus’ next coming, matters are only going to go from bad to worse.

As to why this is so, I think one has to understand the purpose of resurrections, as described in the Bible. With that in mind, I believe it can be deduced that the life one leads now is a type of “boot camp”, where we learn by experiencing all the terrible events caused by what we think is the way we should live … (but which in reality is completely the opposite of God’s way of life for Man).

In conclusion, it goes without saying that my above opinions are completely different from the views of established religious denominations, despite being based on Bible Scriptures.

Regards,
Karlis

See.. this is why I do not wish to be a Christian.. because in a sense, to do so means I must allow myself to be 'abused', and blame myself.

If a husband (or wife, but I am female, so going with husband).. never raises a hand to a woman.. however.. verbally.. emotionally.. constantly tells her .. except in me, you will suffer.. you must follow my words.. even though i am not going to prove anything to you by them.. or you will suffer an eternity of everlasting hell..

and when said wife perhaps fails in something, perhaps she didnt begged/prayed for her husband to help her/their child to get better.. but said child remains ill.. maybe worsens.. and she is told

'you do not believe in me enough.. because you do not believe... your child remains sick... and may worsen.. maybe die'..

perhaps husband has other 'pple' who do believe in him, odds are one of them will experience horror and come out better for it.. OMG he believed enough and a miracle happened! SO.. obviously the momma is weak.. did not believe enough..

the husband never shows his 'powers', just uses his words and claims things as happening due to his manifistations..

we call these pple cult leaders.. and abusers..

yet.. God of the christian bible does the exact same thing

and he is revered and worshipped.. and we wonder why cults can rise sooo quickly..

"The repentance that really changes your heart and your relationship with God begins when you recognize that your main sin, the sin under the rest of your sins, is your self-salvation project.... Even diligent involvement in church and religion may need to be repented of once we understand that it was all a way to put God and others in our debt."

Interesting concept, Karlis! So, what do you think happened to God-Father that he suddenly changed his traditional policies and abandoned us to some mysterious Son, who is unable to appear in a burning bush, walk the deserts as a smoke pillar, raze the cities with fire and brimstone, save people from starvation and diseases etc etc? Was sending Jesus a punishment for our sins? God refused to be our Father?

I am living proof of the above statements. As CS Lewis once said, 'Pain is God's megaphone to rouse a deaf world.' It is often, as in my own case, that until we comprehend pain, until we hit rock bottom, that we truly see the Grace of Christ. As the scriptures say, we are gold tried by the fire, faith must be able to endure any storm. But not only to endure, but rejoice in it.

To answer your question; In theory I would most certainly be able to sacrifice my life for my beliefs. However I think one would have to be in the situation before one could truthfully ascertain how one would react.
One thing I would NEVER EVER be able to do is sacrifice any of my children's lives, if God would require that of me I would most certainly lose. Your question is very interesting.... gets one thinking.
