Then you have a conundrum Abramelin. If the rabbits were made in gods image, what are we in image of? Oops. Maybe I misunderstood. It's the vegetables and roots that were made in god's image.

We are an arrogant lot, Qoais.

We think we are so special, that only a god or some stupid aliens having a good time could have created us.

We are not that special, any cockroach will survive a disaster, or her eggs. We humans will die like flies.

Btw, it's hard to write here, when you can hardly look at the screen, being drunk as I am now.

But it's ok; most of the members here post when under the influence of something that makes their time happy.

Basil Fawlty: Zoom!
What was that?
That was your life, Mate!
That was quick, do I get another?
Sorry, Mate.
Back to the world of dreams.
Yes, dear?

No, you are totally wrong.

You see, there once were aliens here, being drunk, shooting dinosaurs and all that.

And then they met these ugly critters, swinging from tree to tree.

Critters, our dear beloved ancestors, dropping crap in their faces.

Well, that pissed of the alien hunters to a point they wanted to get even.

So they messed a bit with their genes - their main hobby at the time, together with playing god and all that - and made them walk on their feet, grow big brains, and be politicians.

We are an experiment in having fun with genes, got it?

That's what I meant. If there WERE gods as the enuma elish says, then there was a creator being which evolution says there wasn't.

Again, evolution does not attempt to explain a creator in any way, shape or form, only how life evolved once it started.

Hi cormac.. don't the two above statements contradict each other? No offence.. just bothered me ... Logically :)

Imagining a creator is where your intelligence gave up.There is no proof of any creator god.We are just being lazy and gullible, and anything that ignites our stupid brains with fantastic stories will be believed and swalloewd whole.

Hello lightly,

No, the two statements don't contradict each other. Qoais' statement that evolution says there is no GOD is incorrect as evolution, again, makes no attempt to explain GOD. Evolution does explain how life has changed since it first started. Who or what may have started life, assuming there was a "who" or "what", is outside the realm of science and more akin to religious belief.

cormac
Based on what we've done to one another over the last several thousand years, any extraterrestrial civilizations watching us can only conclude that there is NO intelligent life on earth.

If ignorance is bliss, then by extension the ignorance of some as to the depths of their ignorance must be nirvana.
