One of my roomies and his annoying girlfriend went to see it earlier in the week...and were both scared. My other roomie and his girl went to see it a couple of days later and said it was ok...but not all that scary. I'm of the mind that if I watch it...it'll bore me to sleep.

"jumping out of their chairs"? At what - a door closing or a shadow? Sorry - this movie has exactly one jump scare at the end (And jump scares are the lowest form of scare a movie can rely on). Beyond that it is a less than impressive 2 hours of boredom.

Now here's what I liked about Paranormal Activity. It has a pretty authentic feel to it, which is supported by great, realistic acting. Every part feels necessary to the whole film. It also seems to give a fairly accurate representation, for the most part, about how people deal with a haunting in their home. I felt there were many genuinely creepy and interesting parts to keep it moving along. I did think the ending was kind of lame and cheesy though, which in retrospect made the rest of the film seem almost pointless. I'd give it a 7/10. Don't go in expecting to be scared, because this is not a scary movie at all. There is a ton of empty hype surrounding it. If you're simply not into this kind of movie either, you may get bored easily.

May become a wolf when the wolfsbane blooms
