Has anyone seen the new movie called "Paranormal Activity"? It's weird I just saw the trailer and it looks really scary. Any feedback on the movie yet? It seems to have just popped up out of no where :unsure2:

Here's something I found when I googled it: http://www.paranorma...vity-movie.com/

Shall I let you come over to Myspace and let you Twitter my Yahoo until I Google all over your Facebook?

One of my roomies and his annoying girlfriend went to see it earlier in the week...and were both scared. My other roomie and his girl went to see it a couple of days later and said it was ok...but not all that scary. I'm of the mind that if I watch it...it'll bore me to sleep. :sleepy:

Saw it tonight - it was pretty good. A lot of people were screaming and jumping out of their chairs. I was pretty entertained. Highly recommended.

"jumping out of their chairs"? At what - a door closing or a shadow? Sorry - this movie has exactly one jump scare at the end (And jump scares are the lowest form of scare a movie can rely on). Beyond that it is a less than impressive 2 hours of boredom.

  • I hope you can see this because I'm doing it as hard as I can.

I saw this yesterday. Now, I didn't expect to actually be scared by this film, because no horror movie has ever scared me before, but I can't even see how OTHER people could be scared. This movie was not scary in any way. Granted, it was pretty creepy and I enjoyed it for what it was, but this is, by no means the "scariest movie ever made". I'm absolutely baffled that there are so many people who were terrified by this. Like Wookietim mentioned, the only time the film actually attempts to be scary is with one big jump at the end, but since the studio made the great decision of putting that part in the trailer, I was totally expecting that to be the end of the movie given how it plays out. There were about 25 other people in the theater, and none of them seemed to be scared. In fact, it sounded like most of them didn't even like it at all.

Now here's what I liked about Paranormal Activity. It has a pretty authentic feel to it, which is supported by great, realistic acting. Every part feels necessary to the whole film. It also seems to give a fairly accurate representation, for the most part, about how people deal with a haunting in their home. I felt there were many genuinely creepy and interesting parts to keep it moving along. I did think the ending was kind of lame and cheesy though, which in retrospect made the rest of the film seem almost pointless. I'd give it a 7/10. Don't go in expecting to be scared, because this is not a scary movie at all. There is a ton of empty hype surrounding it. If you're simply not into this kind of movie either, you may get bored easily.

They released it nationally last weekend, so check your local theater because it should be playing there.

I think it could be scary to those people who are easily scared or very jumpy, they could be expecting something big. -Scary music comes- People would start to get nervous and watching for something bad to happen... Thenn.. BANG! They all jump out there seats xD The trailer looks goood. I want to see might have a look on a site or something for the film.
Even a man who is pure of heart
And says his prayers by night
May become a wolf when the wolfsbane blooms
And the autumn moon is bright.

Not true... atleast to me.. I have never been scared by a movie, ever, barring The Shining ofcourse. But this one has scared me.

i am the biggest scardy cat in the world and i wasnt afraid of this movie. i mostly laughed at the people screaming there heads off. and i agree the only jumpy part was the end which was also the creepiest. if you watch alot of paranormal shows like ghost hunters or ghost adventures or even destination truth (they do alot of paranormal stuff latly) then its just like a long episode of that show where they catch alot of evidence and thats it

I seen it, I think most scary movies stink, this one was one of the better ones but I was no where near scared. There was a few good parts in it. Its not even close to as good as everyone claims.
